🍃 Breathing with the wind~growing with the trees that surround me ~GROUNDING with the earth beneath me 🍃
These last few weeks, my body has been asking for more MOVEMENT 🏃🏼♀️and more NATURE 🌲
So, this is exactly what I’ve been giving it! It became very clear to me that I was feeling drawn to buckle down and really get clear about my health and fitness goals. However, it’s completely normal to struggle with consistency.
So, I made some concrete goals for myself and made an internal promise to focus on them daily.
GOAL # 1 ➡️ Find a new nature trail in Ontario every week & explore, explore, explore! 🏔 Moving my body & increasing my heartrate while breathing in the fresh air is truly therapy for me. Not to mention the array of physical & mental benefits that nature offers.
GOAL # 2 ➡️ Practice yoga daily. This has been a goal of mine for many years, so I knew it was time to cut the BS & just do the damn thing 🧘🏼♀️
GOAL # 3 ➡️ At least 10 min of core work daily. This includes planks, crunches/sit-ups, leg lifts, & other Pilates-based movements to strengthen the core.
GOAL # 4 ➡️ Clean up my diet! 🍏As someone who is pretty health-conscious & passionate about nutrition, I already eat fairly healthy for the most part. However, the lockdown definitely threw off my routine & my eating habits have become very irregular. I’ve been eating way more junk than normal. And guess what, THAT’S OKAY! We all cope differently with stress & I know that was part of my journey. Another side note—what works for me may not work for you. Every body is different and there is no “correct” way to eat. That being said, after experimenting over the years, I know what food choices make ME feel my healthiest & most energized. SO, time to clean it up & focus on eating tons of vegetables & whole foods, opt for water over sugary drinks, avoid eating past 8 pm, take my vitamins & focus on nourishing my body & eating intuitively.
It’s truly incredible how fast our bodies can adapt to new habits and how quickly we can build strength and flexibility when we do something consistently & with intention.
