Once upon a time.... This cafe, The River Kitchen in Victoria St, Hamilton absolutely knocks it out of the park with their brilliant story telling, delicious food and attention to detail. Love the play on those Little Golden Books for the menu, and the selection of scones and baking is truly impressive. Totally delicious refined simple food. A perfect dinner (that's a big call! ) tonight at the brand new Trocadero restaurant and bar in Queen St Auckland. Salmon tartare and mushroom under that eggshell, mango and quail salad with savoy cabbage & peas, a perfectly cooked gurnard with kumara, and a light as air seafood mélange . The ingredients of Aotearoa cooked with French finesse. Approachable, affordable and I am going to return. Soon. #alwaysdelicious #perfectfood

Ok. I have featured a superbly simple tomato salad in @nzlistenermag . Cuisine has a complex, arty tomato salad on the summer issue cover. But this is the absolute best tomato salad in the city. Unbelievably delicious with that amazing herbal espuma in the centre.
