#controllingwhatican #food #eating I am hearing this a lot , it’s more challenging to stay on track when home. The kitchen calls to me, like the ocean calls Moana 🌊 I really haven’t talked much about this because what works for one person may not work for another. Since January I have switched my eating habits to intermittent fasting ( IF ). It has been great. Five days on two days off with a window from 12-8. Here is why I like it. Especially now. It gives me structure, no mindless snacking after 8pm, and in the morning I have my coffee and the majority of my water intake. I don’t have to be as strict with what I eat so I am not as food focused. I still prep my food because having it already on hand I am more likely to stick to the foods I was eating when I was out of the house. If I do eat something that is not exactly clean ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ZERO GUILT ‼️‼️‼️ They say that what you break your fast with is how you set the tone for the window. I break mine with a healthy #pinkdrink , balances my sugar and provides healthy bacteria for my gut. I also end the day with my Probio5 and bio cleanse, again feeding my #gut Having a healthy gut that does not crave sugar and processes all the nutrients from the foods I feed myself I truly believe is what has helped me. So if you have read this far in the long run it comes down to having a plan just like everything else. If you are trying to lose weight or not gain 😉 remember calories in vs calories out. Stay hydrated. Get your sleep and keep stress levels to a minimum. Times are tough right now. I'm one of the many who are off work. A lot of things not happening that should be. I'm the type that likes to keep busy. When I get stressed I eat when I'm bored I eat! Not this time, I'm in a different mindset! ➕ I'm so happy I've spent the last year it seems preparing for something like this. Who loves their routine? . . It’s more than likely your normal routine has been turned upside down at the moment. . . There are a lot of things you can’t control or change but there are some really positive things you can do. . . As your old routine is out of the window why not create a new one with some extra healthy habits… . . Without being able to go out most of us have some extra time on our hands so how about trying some of the following: . . 🧘🏼‍♀️ Daily movement - a walk, training session, yoga, bike ride or whatever you fancy. . . 🍔 Experiment with food - you can’t go out to eat so why not create some fakeaways instead. . . 🥙 Find your ‘staples’ - eating well is so much easier when you have your go to meals, use the time to find what works for you and when life goes back to normal you’ll have them in place. . . 🤸🏼‍♀️ Try some different workouts - whether it’s learning to do a handstand or adapting what you do at the gym to home it’s the perfect time to have some fun with fitness. . . All of the above will help your physical and mental health which must be a priority at the moment. . . #transformationtuesday I’m no fitness model or super skinny and I still love my food but my mindset has changed so much over the last few years. Weight training has given me a much improved body shape, more confidence and get up and go. Times are really challenging right now but being active has become part of my normal life. My workouts are going to be a bit different without the gym but I have few bits at home and will do what I can to keep myself fit and healthy.
