🚨KNEE CAP PAIN SERIES: PART 2🚨 . 💥We discussed in the previous post the importance of strengthening to aid in kaee cap pain. . 💥Why might it be important to consider the above as well? . 1️⃣During the loading phase of running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ we're in a single leg stance position therefore stability becomes important. 🚨GLUTE STRENGTH HELPS REDUCE KNEE PAIN!🚨 . ◻ATHLETE PROFILE➡️ Track & Field- Sprinter: 100 & 200 metres . 💥Common complaints include pain sitting with a bent knee, going up/down stairs, and running/jumping. . . 💥Nunes et al (2019 ) found that Lower hip strength and power correlated with lower function in patients with patellofemoral pain. . CONCLUSION: . 💥People with patellofemoral pain have functional impairments, associated with reduced hip muscle capacity and overall less strength endurance and power through the glutes. . . 💥Progressive hip muscle resistance training may be beneficial. ‼ . Here are Two Exercises we provided in our third session together. It is slightly more advanced for the glutes. . . 1️⃣Side plank clam w/ band 2️⃣Side step double band . . 📚Nunes, G., et al. 2019.
