⁣BREATHING IS FUNDAMENTAL TO OUR HEALTH⠀ ⠀ We’re designed to breathe through our nose, yet over 50% of us are chronic mouth breathers...it seems we’ve regressed as humans.⠀ ⠀ It’s common knowledge that our nose filters, warms and humidifies the air - It’s our first line of defence against airborne pathogens (kinda important in this current climate ).⠀ ⠀ BEAK BREATHING release nitric oxide (NO ) into the body. NO is a vasodilator which helps increase oxygen delivery to our cells and tissues.⠀ ⠀ Mouth breathing can often lead to over breathing (blowing off too much CO2 ). Retention of CO2 will cause more dissociation with oxygen and haemoglobin in the red blood cells. This means more oxygen released into the working cells and tissues = better performance and recovery.⠀ ⠀ So yes, when you use the nose, you might breathe in less air at times, but you’re getting more oxygen deliver…which is what actually matters, right?⠀ ⠀ Author and journalist James Nestor wanted to see for himself how detrimental to our health mouth breathing really is.⠀ ⠀ In his latest book, “Breath”, he describes the experiment he ran with Dr Jayakar Nayak of Stanford University.⠀ ⠀ James and Anders Olsson, breathing therapist, plugged their nose and only used their moth to breathe.⠀ ⠀ The results…⠀ 🚨 Snoring increased 1300%, after 1 night. A few days later it doubled, then tripled.⠀ 🚨 Blood pressure went up 20 points in the first day.⠀ 🚨 Stage 2 hypertension.⠀ 🚨 Sleep apnea, SPO2 = 90-91% (normal is 95-98% ).⠀ 🚨 Athletic performance decreased.⠀ 🚨 Felt awful, stressed and fatigued.⠀ ⠀ When they unplugged, and only used their nose (mouth tape when sleeping and exercising ), snoring disappeared, 52 sleep apnea events to 0, blood pressure lowered 20 points back to normal levels and HRV shot through the roof.⠀ ⠀ “Don’t breathe through your mouth. Good Morning ☀️ I am so grateful this morning. I am so grateful that I made the choice to walk the path to enlightment.🙏 When I look at my life today in comparison to 7 years back, it's two different lives. ☀️ 🔴Back then I was angry, I was deep in the victim role blaming everything outside myself for all my problems. 🟠I was hurting badly, I was taking with me the hurt I experienced from childhood, into adulthood. But now I was doing it to myself. 🟡I was talking down to myself, beating myself up, I was in very much both physical and emotional pain. And it took me a long time to stop being so hard on myself. To take responibility for my life and my choices. It was a choice to leave the old me behind and there was work to do. 🟢Being open and honest first and for all with myself, was not that easy. Because honesty comes in layers. What was my truth then is not my truth now. With practice and support, I found the way back into my soul. 🔵I did it. I put one foot in front of the other and I walked through the storms. Up the mountains, falling down, getting up again, falling down. Now I am at the top of my mountain ⛰️ admiring the beautiful view. The storms have stopped, the ocean inside me is CALM. 🌅 🟣I can see now. I see the bigger picture. I see that all my experiences was nessesary for me to release the old life, also back in other lifetimes...🌈 ⚪ It's been a journey. Or should I say " a hell of a ride", and I wanted to quit so many times. But in the knowing, I just knew this needed to be done. It was my purpose.⭐ ❤️I am good. I am happy. SLEEP 💤 rest and recovery... Getting a good nights sleep is a thing we actually can’t live without and as an adult you appreciate more of. I can’t lie over the years I have been a TERRIBLE sleeper. Hello fellow insomniacs! However, exercise plays a vital role in making sure I catch a few more zzzzs Sleep plays an important role in your physical health. For example, sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Sleep helps maintain a healthy balance of the hormones that make you feel hungry (ghrelin ) or full (leptin ). When you don't get enough sleep, your level of ghrelin goes up and your level of leptin goes down. This makes you feel hungrier than when you're well-rested. Recovery after exercise is essential to muscle and tissue repair and strength building. This is even more critical after a heavy weight training session. A muscle needs anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to repair and rebuild, and working it again too soon simply leads to tissue breakdown instead of building. So if you are on a fitness regime make sure you are well rested and factor in those recovery days. . می‌خوام یه داستان تعریف کنم که هنوزم ازش خجالت میکشم و خیلی وقتا بهش فکر می‌کنم : وقتی دبستانی بودم و کلاس زبان میرفتم یه دختری توی کلاسمون بود که بیناییش رو از کودکی از دست داده بود.من به اون یه معذرت خواهی بدهکارم ... وقتی معلم به اون توجه می‌کرد یا از اون میخواست متن رو بخونه وقتی من دستم بالا کرده بودم ازش بدم میومد و اصلا متوجه نبودم با اینکه نابینا هست داره چه کار بزرگی انجام میده و چند ترمی که همکلاسیم بود دوستش نشدم ... اگه برگردم عقب ... این حس عذاب وجدان رو از خودم میگیرم قطعا، تشویقش می‌کردم و میگفتم یه ستارست. مشکل اینه که نمی‌تونم برگردم و باید با این عذاب وجدان کنار بیام ولی خب باعث شد نسبت به بقیه با هر مشکل روحی و جسمی بهتر رفتار کنم.... دوست دارم به بقیه یادآور بشم که با همه باید مهربون بود ... ما انتخاب نمیکنیم قد بلند باشیم یا قد کوتاه ، بیماره ژنتیکی داشته باشیم یا نه ، بتونیم راه بریم و حرف بزنیم ، قدرت شنوایی داشته باشیم یا نه... ولی هر کدوم از این چیزایی که داریم یه نعمتی که نباید بی ارزش ببینیمشون اگه حالا میتونی حرف بزنی حرفای خوب و مفید بزن، نه فقط حرفای به درد نخور و منفی اگه میتونی بشنوی سعی کن حرف دل مردم بشنوی و کمک کنی به کسی اگه میتونی راه بری برو به جاهای دور و بزرگ و اینقدر بزرگ شو که بتونی کمک کنی اگه میتونی ببینی سعی کن خوبی ها رو ببینی ، نعمت ها رو ببینی اگه سلامت روانت خوبه سعی کن مطالعه کنی و به عزیزان که شاید مشکل دارن بتونی یکم کمک کنی زندگی واقعا کوتاهه روزانه کلی آدم میمیرن سعی کن خوب و سربلند زندگی کنی .... #mentalhealth #physicalhealth #selfwritten #دلنوشته #رنگارنگ #colorful

“Nothing changes if nothing changes.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can’t expect to wake up one morning and say that you will be consistent with the things you want to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Reading more, exercising regularly, eating healthier, having better relationships, being a better parent, doing better in school, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you don’t take ACTION, nothing changes. If you don’t actually DO what you SAY you will do, NOTHING changes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It takes consistent hard work. It takes keeping your word, and showing up, not even only for yourself, but for the others around you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And when you actually start showing up for yourself consistently, it feels really freaking GOOD.
