Aside from being rich in omega-3 fatty acids (healthy fat ), salmon is also high in Vitamin D, an essential nutrient not easily found in many foods. Whether wild caught, or farmed, salmon still offers many benefits. For example; wild caught is lower in fat, but higher in minerals and farmed is higher in fat, containing slightly more omega-3’s. I love eating, my family and friends (not eating my family and friends - there is a comma lol ), my girlfriend, socialising, basketball (Go lakers baby! ), working out and helping people become the best they can be. The last 2 are the reason I have started my own health and fitness coaching business and the reason I am so passionate about it. I am a qualified personal trainer, having completed both my cert 3 and cert 4 in fitness. As a mostly unmotivated kid (maybe motivated to play video games, but that’s about it ), I turned to exercise when I was about 16 years of age for a change. I found that it not only helped me physically look better, be healthier and get stronger, but I also grew so much as person in other areas. It helped me with my self-confidence, prioritisation, goal-setting, accountability, planning, putting myself first, habits, moderation, balance and consistency. With the purpose of Firkin Fitness being to help all people get ‘Fitter for a better life’, I would love the opportunity to help you become the best version of yourself through the training and education that has helped me get to where I am today and what I use to continually push me to where I want to be. The reaction if someone asked me how many times I’ve trained in the past 2 weeks... - First my neck seized up. My shoulders take quite a battering getting punched through the week, and with the number of hours I spend in a car or at a desk between them it’s not a great recipe. - I’ve also been way too low on sleep and too high on stress as there’s been fair bit of faecal matter on the fan of late. - Monday & Tuesday were 17hr days; I cut today short at 10hrs and went to chip and putt. I’m now gonna get 9hrs sleep ahead of hitting the gym in the morning. - But I’ve been for one run and one gym session in the past 11 days. Do I feel good for it? Nope... but my current hustle-circumstances haven’t given me much choice. Sometimes you have to prioritise and I’m not the type to sacrifice sleep for training (anymore - it’s taken some fuckups to get here ). - I’m also not beating myself up about it. I can honestly say that every day I haven’t trained was for a good reason I’m content with and my personal goals haven’t slipped for it. - I could pretend to be setting a better “example” of exercise being “everything” but, whilst I do feel it’s a hugely foundational part of life, I’d rather be an honest example that sometimes the rest of life gets in the way. - Make conscious decisions and own them. - Inspired by @kinetic .diabetic being similarly transparent recently.
