If you’re running around in circles and you’ve overlooked the basics stop where you’re at and implement the basics. . Middle-aged woman. “Chronic Lyme disease.” “Heavy metal toxicity.” “Perineural injection deficiency.” “Hormone Imbalance. . Blah blah blah. . What we knew she had was autoimmune thyroiditis and perhaps overlap of something not clearly definable. . She ran the gauntlet for several years treated for this and that with little results. . She got to me and I really had no idea what to do with her but when we went over everything she had done it became obvious to me that she was running in circles. . In cases like this I take the path of least resistance and revisit the basics. . Sometimes patients are disappointed with me because they’re looking for the next exotic thing. . “I just want to garden again without pain? Can you help me do that?” . “I don’t know let’s see what we can do.” . I put her on a very extreme elimination diet for six weeks. . I had her oil pull. . I had her use her infrared sauna for days per week. Recharge with coconut water. . In two months she was a new woman. . What about the chronic Lyme? What about the heavy-metal toxicity? If you just pop up a templated site, you’ll be missing out on 3 key strategies:⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ Messaging Strategy. What’s your brand story? Who do you help? What problems do you solve? How are you unique in your field? What is the vibe you want to put across and the feeling you want to convey? You’ve gotta be clear on your messaging strategy before writing a single word on your website. ⁠ ⁠ 2️⃣ Organizational Strategy. Where do you want people to be guided on your site? What are the key pages that will get them to take action? Where do the buttons go, and how will you organize your menu bar? Have you googled this before? Maybe you have because you have been experiencing some of the classic hypothyroid symptoms - fatigue, feeling cold, constipation, weight gain, and hair loss. Chronic stress and hormonal changes are top of mind for these symptoms. Maybe you have additional symptoms that could be related to your thyroid - changes to your period, skin rashes/hives, brain fog, joint pain, flu-like symptoms or carpal tunnel. Symptoms in this category tend to point to tanking of your adrenal glands (burnout! ), viral infections (mono, lyme ), immune system dysfunction, a digestive issue (e.g. the parasite blastocystis ) or environmental exposures (heavy metals, pesticides etc. ). First things first, if you are experiencing some of these symptoms comprehensive testing can help to identify what is happening. Testing just your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone, the signal from your brain to your thyroid ) is likely not enough. When assessing thyroid function, a full thyroid panel which includes TSH, the thyroid hormones T3 and T4, thyroid antibodies and something called reverse T3, helps me as a practitioner better understand that state of your thyroid. Is your thyroid producing hormones? How about conversion of inactive T4 hormone to the active T3? Do you have antibodies (most cases of hypothyroidism are autoimmune! )? From there we can then explore the why behind your thyroid dysfunction. Is it an infection? Inflammation? Burnout? Toxin overload? Thyroid health is so much more than just the thyroid hormones themselves. I know first hand what it feels like to have an underactive thyroid which is why I am so passionate about helping my patients heal their thyroids too. ps the background picture I took just the other day in the Rouge National Urban Park and already the leaves have changed drastically. The biggest question we get about CBD: How much should you take? ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We believe it is always best to start low and slow. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is no reason to rush into taking a huge amount of CBD, more is not always better. This is POWERFUL!🔥 I recently saw this quote and it stopped my scroll. It really got me thinking! Why is it as Mom’s we would do anything for our kids, but when it comes to eating healthy and taking care of ourselves we don’t!? We can’t do for others if we aren’t doing for ourselves. I learned in my late 20’s after losing my Dad to pancreatic cancer that it was essential to make my health a priority. Fallin’ into a new routine & rhythm 🍂🥰 . Online classes began this week and let me tell you it was NOT a walk in the park! 😥I am feeling the exhaustion from navigating multiple zoom links, multiple group project/assignment chats, and figuring out different expectations from all our profs & courses! This week was very mentally challenging (& physically if you count the endless hours sitting in front of multiple screens 💻 ). This semester is definitely feeling overwhelming, and I know my classmates are feeling the stress too! .
