I can fix my hair with my foot 😉 On a serious note- flip grip has been my nemesis for a looong time . Even when I managed to “get there “ it wasn’t “ sthira sukham asanam “ for sure 😉 I’d be there panting and getting out of it quickly 🥵 after properly addressing that shoulder external rotation in flexion ( thank you @ade_adedancesg 🙏🏻 ) I can BE there breathe and not rush out of it. I still can’t find it in many other positions ( more “stuff” to be addressed )... but it’s a journey . The bottom line is - address what needs to be addressed first before forcing your body into positions you shouldn’t really be in without having the prerequisites... Doing the Mobility challenge by @axe_semparar . I enjoy doing this one a lot! And realize that I need to work a lot on my balance 😅. Been doing mobility workouts with @axe_semparar for 2 months? 🤔 maybe a little more. She helped me realize all the other aspects that I need to focus on, that will help me improve my capoeira game. Learn to listen to my body , something I thought I did but realized that actually didn’t. Helped me understand that in order to improve my range of motion, recover faster and improve mobility as flexibility, I don’t need to “kill” my self training the same thing over and over again every single day, that I can actually work different parts of my body in different ways that are ven more challenging but won’t exhaust me as much. Requires constancy and discipline, but I’m seeing the results! Work It Out Wednesday! Here are some stretches for the chest/front of the shoulders! Add these to your cooldown/mobility/stretching and feel loose! 1️⃣/2️⃣ Partner assisted and solo version. Pull arms up to feel stretch in front of shoulder 3️⃣Using the wall, place hand onto wall and place same side leg back. I got a treadmill! So excited to add a treadmill to my own physical therapy clinic. Let me share a bit of how I got here. Like most PTs, I got interested in physical therapy after having an injury racing cross country in college. A chiropractor, who I was getting treatment from, suggested I look into physical therapy when I said I was interested in athletic training. Flash forward several years, in physical therapy school I had an injury from a fall. Despite going to multiple sports physicians, physical therapist and getting countless imaging, no one was able to fix it. After a couple years, I took matters into my own hands and decided to learn everything I could to figure out my own injury. I’m glad to say I’m running injury free. With the knowledge gained from solving my own injury, I am able to help resolve injuries for my clients. I’ve figured out what treatment works and what does work. I cried in my MD’s office when my MRI was negative. I want to help others avoid that feeling. This is what led me to open my own clinic.
