Kymani hit the home studio (aka garage ) with me as we did a @nike community workout on YouTube live! I've been trying to be more active and if I'm being honest, its HARD for me. This has not been an easy journey. I struggle with my food, I struggle with workouts, I struggle with my image... after being pregnant back to back, nothing about me is the same! That's hard. I went from being in the best shape of my life, to being soooo tired when I got pregnant I was barely active and then being pregnant with TWINS did not help change that! And having 3 babies doesn't help with that either 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ These are EASY EXCUSES I have relied on to JUSTIFY where I'm at and stay unhappy with myself. BUT I AM ON THE UP AND UP.👏👏 I am LEARNING to embrace who I am NOW and learning its okay that I'm not where I want to be, AS LONG AS I AM TAKING DAILY STEPS TO GET THERE! So what are some steps I am taking?? MINDFUL EATING! ---am I going to feel good after I eat this? I noticed through doing the #30daysofhealthyliving challenge that a lot of my bad eating habits come when I'm feeling stressed or anxious. So learning to pause and be PRESENT and address the heart of the issue. MINDFULNESS--- How am I growing today and being intentional in my emotional and mental health? WORKOUTS--- Start SOMEWHERE. and BE PROUD of the effort. So what if it takes me 13 min to run a mile!? Its STARTING. Its more than you would have done 2 months ago. I'm starting habits. I'm creating routines. I'm embracing who I am now, realizing who I am becoming is better than who I was. I call this “leftover scramble” 🤣😍 . I had leftover broccoli and sausage from last night’s dinner, so I just sautéed it all together with an egg/egg whites, threw in a big handful of spinach, sprinkled some cheese on top and called it breakfast! 😛 . Also made cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter, jam, and banana slices 🤤🤤 I could eat about 5 of those... . Meals don’t have to be super elaborate or time-consuming. They can be just as yummy working with what you have!

If you had to choose between peanut butter and cheese, which would you choose?⁣ ⁣ These *almond* butter protein cookies are so delicious and they pack in FIBER! They are #glutenfree . I bought applesauce for one recipe and didn’t think I’d use it again... well I’m happy I didn’t throw it out! I’m going to try to incorporate it more because its really good in recipes. You can eat these for breakfast, snack, and dessert!⁣ ⁣ WHAT YOU NEED:⁣ 1 cup gluten free oats⁣ 2 scoops @f_factor protein powder or protein of choice ⁣ 1/2 almond butter (or any nut butter )⁣ 1/4 unsweetened applesauce ⁣ 2 tablespoon agave, honey, maple syrup ⁣ ⁣ HOW TO:⁣ 🍪Preheat at 350⁣ 🍪Mix wet and dry ingredients separately ⁣ 🍪Slowly combine until everything is formed . ⁣ 🍪 When you roll into balls, use a fork to push down for ~design~. So, if you find yourself eating more (or less ) than usual, especially at a time like this, PLEASE don’t judge yourself for it.🙅🏾‍♀️⁣ ⁣⁣ Try to ignore all the memes about gaining the “covid 19” (a reference to gaining 19lbs in quarantine ) and unfollow influencers that make you feel like a failure for not having a perfect diet during such a crazy time! It’s not a moral obligation.🤷🏾‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣ The LAST thing you need to do right now (or ever ) is restrict your food intake and judge yourself. Restriction will always backfire on you, similarly to the binging and dieting cycle. Eating restricted foods will make you feel more stress, anxiety, and guilt; and as a result, these negative feelings make you eat even MORE in an effort to feel better. This makes you feel EVEN WORSE and the cycle repeats itself, over and over again. ⁣⁣🤦🏾‍♀️ ⁣⁣ It’s not worth all the extra stress and you’re only human at the end of the day. Just know that you’re not alone and we’ll eventually get back to our regular lives and eating habits. Until then, eat your snacks sis!! So yesterday I turned 43 and it was definitely a different birthday this year! It was lovely having the day with my husband (and Taz ) but I mostly just had a chilled rather than celebratory day. LIMITING BELIEFS⠀ ◾️◾️◾️⠀ I’m not smart enough. ⠀ I’ll never understand. ⠀ I’m not cut out for that job. ⠀ I can’t do it. ⠀ I don’t have the personality for that position. ⠀ I don’t have the body for that. ⠀ I don’t have the tools to learn how to get there. ⠀ I’m just not capable. ⠀ I never learned that. ⠀ This wasn’t in my plan, I can’t do it anymore. ⠀ ⠀ 🔻🔻🔻LISTEN UP 🗣🗣🔻🔻🔻⠀ ⠀ YOU HAVE GOT TO QUIT. ⠀ This has been one of my new practices in being self-aware to catch and stop these lies and #limitingbeliefs I unknowingly tell myself. ⠀ True story: ⠀ I grew up that annoying horse-girl, and still am I just kinda keep it tamed 😉 #punny ⠀ Throughout the end of high school and the fun years of the early twenties trying to figure out what exactly my future looked like, I realize now I was FULL of those limiting beliefs for SO LONG. ⠀ I have thought/urged my sister often to do what I wasn’t brave enough to do and go look for work on a ranch-just for fun, just for summer, just in the meantime, just to learn, just to experience and so on. Or permanently! ⠀ I was never “enough” to think I was cut out to do it myself (during that time ), and these days I can get real upset noticing just how low of a self esteem I really had. ⠀ I couldn’t do it, -but others definitely can. ⠀ I grew up around horses, sure, -but I don’t know how to pull a trailer. ⠀ I’ve taught my sisters how to care for horses and ride, sure, but I’ve never been a “teacher” at a barn-so I don’t have any experience. ⠀ I’ve spent time working at a vet clinic and learned some things, sure, but I’ve only dealt with colic in my own horses-I’m not experienced/smart enough for any other emergencies. ⠀ DETRIMENTAL THOUGHTS. ⠀ ◾️◾️◾️◾️◾️⠀ WHAT was stopping me?! ⠀ What is stopping you?! 【Cod liver oil】 . I haven't worked up the courage to cooking liver yet (I'm getting there, as someone who didn't eat red meat for nearly 10 years, it may take some time ). However in the mean time, this seemed like a good alternative to get some of the benefits of this nutrient dense organ. . A teaspoon of this provides you with over a gram of omega-3 fattty acids, 4500IU of vitamin A, and 450IU of vitamin D. You want to look for a cod liver oil that has been processed in a way that ensures it's fatty acids stay intact. You also want to look for a 10:1 ratio of vitamin A to vitamin D. . Late-Night bruschetta 🧄🌿🍅 TREAT MEAL Edition! Add tomato, chopped garlic (a lot ), fresh basil, plenty of salt + pepper in a bowl with a splash of extra virgin o.o and a little balsamic vinegar. Let this marinate for at least 30min. Toast sliced sourdough bread (I love real sourdough because it is fermented! You can also use Mother dough bread that has been pre fermented ) 🔛Oven on broil: toast bread with a little evoo, add marinated tomatos (optional: top with organic Italian cheese @organicvalley ) & broil for 1 min. Top bruschetta with more sliced basil & ENJOY! Food freedom means you get to enjoy your treat meals without feeling guilty or like you’re cheating. It’s not a cheat meal, it’s a treat meal. . . . Let’s talk food! - So first I want to say this loud and clear, I don’t like diets! 🗣 - I have gone through years and years of yo-yo dieting. As of late I have spent a lot of time learning about intuitive and mindful eating. - Intuitive eating is learning to listen to your body. To feed it what it wants when it wants it. Diets force us to restrict. To limit what we take in. Intuitive eating is learning to feed your body what is needs and stop when it is full. - Mindful eating is allowing yourself to savor and be intentional about what you are eating. Mindful eating takes time, you have to push yourself to eat slowly, and to savor food. - We want to think of food as fuel. We are told to eat all natural, whole foods but at times that very difficult. That means no junk and puts most restaurants or going out nearly impossible. So I want you to think about balance. That sometimes we eat salads, go to the gym, and eat all natural chicken. Other times we eat Popeyes and Reece’s egg 🤷🏻‍♀️ - You want to feed your body what it needs so that it functions at its peak. When we fuel our body appropriately our hormones also work at their peak. One of the most common contributing factors for hormones dysfunction is nutrition. Worried about gaining weight while on quarantine? Feeling guilty for eating without exercising? Worrying about eating too much? - I understand that these can be worries for some people right now... but at the same time, if these are your main worries you may just need to reprioritize your thoughts and realise that there are far worse things that can happen than just gaining weight. - Right now there are far more concerning and worrying issues than whether you gain weight or not. And a good thing to ask yourself is.... so what if you gain weight, does it really matter? - The important thing is to keep yourself, those you love and those most vulnerable safe. As well as minimizing the amount of individuals in need of urgent care. - If you are struggling with food, weight, exercise addiction and/or guilt around these the now is a good time to challenge those fears. - Focus on other hobbies... writing, reading, learning a new language, drawing, starting a new project, finding a new series to immerse yourself in. - Write out your thoughts. Journal. Face your fears. - But also take contact with a therapist/dietitian/psychologist online. Use this time in quarantine to focus on your mental health, challenge these fears holding you back. Take that step to talk to someone or make changes which longterm will make you healthier. - I know times are tough and many may fall back into negative coping mechanisms... but if you notice that happening-make a change to not let yourself fall deeper. - Nourish your body and mind. Talk with those you love. Be kind to yourself. Practise self love. Journal. Reach out for help. And know that your body and mind needs nourishment everyday no matter you do or don't do. - And you are amazing regardless of weight or size 💕 - Don't restrict. Don't self deprive. Find healthy coping mechanisms. Exercise for health - not guilt or anxiety. Eat for enjoyment and nourishment. Throw out the scale.
