Aku dari dulu takut banget berpisah sama ibuku, eh, ternyata ketakutanku kejadian. Dari dulu aku selalu mengidentifikasi diriku sebagai “anak ibu”. Aku selalu nempel sama ibu, dia tau semua tentangku, hampir semua temenku kenal ibuku, she was my 24/7, my everything. Jadi saat ibuku divonis kanker, duniaku perlahan hancur. Aku merasa kanker yang ada di diri ibuku membunuhku lebih cepat daripada tubuhnya sendiri. Saat pada akhirnya ia meninggal dunia, aku akhirnya berkenalan dengan rasa sepi. Aku sudah hidup selama 24 tahun, namun aku baru merasakan betapa menyiksanya kesepian setelah tidak ada lagi ibuku disisiku. Kosong, sedih, sepi. Aku larut dalam kerinduanku akan pelukan ibu, dan itu membuatku tidak memiliki energi untuk melakukan apapun lagi. Keluarga dan sahabat tersayang beramai-ramai hadir untuk menghiburku, tapi rasanya tidak cukup saat yang benar-benar diharapkan tidak hadir. Di dalam keramaian aku masih merasa sepi. Tapi ternyata sepi yang menyakitkan ini juga membawa manfaatnya tersendiri. Setelah ditinggalkan ibu yang selalu menemani, kadang ada pemikiran “kok tega ya ibu ninggalin aku” yang muncul. Tapi saat aku sedang cukup rasional, aku sadar bahwa justru ia baik sekali sudah sangat dekat menemaniku sebisanya, sepanjang hidupnya. Sepinya hari-hari yang sekarang kujalani membuatku lebih mengenali diriku sendiri. Karena sepi, aku dapat mendengar suaraku sendiri dengan lebih jernih. Semua yang biasanya kukonsultasikan terlebih dahulu bersama ibu sekarang kuputuskan sendiri. Sedih memang, tidak memiliki tempat aman yang paling kupercaya untuk menceritakan apapun lagi, namun ternyata aku bisa jadi tempat untuk diriku sendiri berbagi. Masih berat untukku menerima perubahan ini, tapi aku yakin kesendirian akan dapat dinikmati.

Nessuno pensa, però, che è una procedura lenta, lunga e difficile; soprattutto implica delle fasi di fermentazione che se non fatte nel modo corretto, possono dare prodotti tossici. Allora capisco che tutti abbiamo più tempo ma perché cazzo dobbiamo proprio diventare panettieri. Se uno si intossica dove va a finire? Sì, proprio in ospedale. In quegli ospedali già intasati. Anybody that really knows me knows that cardio ain’t my thang⠀ ⠀ I’ll typically skip cardio day and take an extra rest day instead 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️⠀ ⠀ That’s probably the reason that I’m still holding onto 25 lbs of extra “baby weight” and my daughter will be 3 in June 😳😳⠀ ⠀ But, in honor of making myself step outside my comfort zone, today I completed Lit Cardio in @jerichomcmatthews Morning Meltdown 100... and I think I feel pretty f*cking great!!⠀ ⠀ As a small business owner (who only opened the doors to the business in November ), being forced to close down has been TOUGH. I miss my team, I miss my clients, I miss my salon.⠀ ⠀ As a mom & wife, not being able to contribute to my family financially absolutely kills me.⠀ ⠀ As a human, I’m LONGING for a sense of purpose, independence & stability.⠀ ⠀ My morning workouts have helped me a LOT with these struggles. They may not help me pay my bills, but they help to give me structure, energy, and a sense of accomplishment.⠀ ⠀ Thank you to everyone that’s followed me, liked my photos, shared their comments, and taken the time to read the things I’ve written. I was wondering why I dreamt about you last night and all at once I understood. I'm going through one of the biggest 'checkpoints' in my life and our subconscious always gets things earlier. Do you remember when you taught me about being good? Always be good, be a good human, a good citizen. Do always the right thing. Help the weak, listen to people. Say sorry even if you're not wrong, say thank you each time someone does something for you. Respect appointments, better arrive a few minutes before. Always keep your promises cause people can feel bad if you don't. If you're mad at someone then one another doesn't deserve your anger. Be kind. Go volunteer when you'll get older cause we need to help others. Always be present. Never make fun of people. Study and read are necessary. Be true. Be sincere and BE HONEST. Did you already knew how actually people are? Did you already knew I was going to be very disappointed? Didn't you think it was a too big of a baggage to carry on? You know when I started university you were very proud, I saw your eyes getting wet. I've studied with so much passion and I've learnt a lot about people. I've learnt about our brains and the reasons behind our behaviours. I got extremely curious about narcissism and read scary statistics (still do ). But it was with practice that I understood how people live in fortresses they call 'boundaries' to justify their rudeness. They wish things they can't even manage and still they put others in danger to get them. Did you knew the all time? You old man why you kept the secret? I did everything you wanted, what now? Today I can see things differently. I gave up on many if the patterns you taught to me and mom. I really am sick of being kind all the time and see people not giving a shit (sorry, 'ladies don't swear' but I do you know ). I'll be grateful again for you teaching me to be good in a mad world but I am not today. I am taking a step back, I need to protect me. Not gunna lie, staying sober during a pandemic is all kinds of challenging. But I’m hanging in there! Today marks nine months since I stopped drinking. It’s bloody tough right now – there have been so many times in the last few weeks where all I wanted to do was crack open a bottle of wine (or five ) to block out the the rolling shit-show of catastrophic news we’re all facing. But I know that for me, it’s never just one glass, particularly in times of stress. And I don’t want to risk where those hangovers might take me. Alcohol intensifies my anxiety, impairs my sleep and generally chips away at my ability to cope. Things are hard enough as they are right now. So tonight, I’m sticking to my alcohol-free beers and throwing a quiet party for one to celebrate this latest milestone. And I’m sending strength and solidarity to anyone else who’s trying to manage their own complex relationship with alcohol in these most challenging and stressful times.
