Deload week means I have free space in my program to try new things, right? This time, I tried tempo deadlifts - regular deads with a 3-count down. Holy 🔥. Pretty sure this shouldn’t have counted toward a deload workout because I was lit up. I’m going to replace paused deadlifts in the next cycle with these for something different. A ) You don’t want to do the same thing all the time; and B ) You want to keep yourself interested. We had plates equalling 30lbs inside our backpack, but you can use anything! HOME QUAD SUPERSET, NO EQUIPMENT NEEDED A1 Bodyweight Leg Extension to failure Not sure who came up with this originally but first saw it on @coacheugeneteo story. Bring your two feet up on an elevated surface and bring your hips into full flexion. From here, bring your knee into extension to train the quad into its lengthened range. Don't be afraid to spend some time in the shortened range; pause in that squeezed position for about a second or two. A2 Bodyweight Sissy Squat Variation to failure Start off in a kneeling position and bring your hips forward into extension in line with your shoulders, hold your hips in this position for the entire set. Slowly lower yourself back, bringing the knee to full flexion (when your hamstring touches your calf ). This works the quad in the lengthened range. Again, spend a couple of seconds in this lengthened position, and then return almost to your starting position. There's no need to come all the way upright, as this will result in a loss of tension in the quad. Combining these with a squat/lunge variation will train your quads through their full contractile range.

⁣ I think we all just got forced to be a little more humble, to take a step back and realise the little things and the true necessities. ⁣ ⁣ Things will go back to normal but in the mean time we should appreciate the things we have been taking for granted, the time with the ones we live with, being creative, being present, a chance to do the things we are always to busy to do. ⁣ ⁣ I think what I have realised is that there is so much less vanity involved in physical exercise right now, people are trying new things, running, doing yoga and no one is passing judgement. We are all in the same position, we have been grounded. ⁣ We have been given an opportunity to see what else we are capable of, to reset mentally and to grow as Individuals without the influence of everyone always being around us. ⁣ ⁣ We became so routine in our lives that we forgot how to just be ourselves and to exist, so swept up in things which aren’t really that important the lashes, bags, constantly needing to do things, to be entertained outside of our homes, spending money on pointless things, things which aren’t really that important. ⁣ ⁣ We forgot how to think for ourselves. An Honest One🙏 I tried to record a workout today and it was just one of them days where you know when you really aren’t feeling yourself, you pick out all the negatives and they multiply by 10 in your head! The things that you wouldn’t even notice are suddenly eating you up and you can’t help but get fustrated with yourself. Well that was abit of my day! I guess I am trying to say that not everyday you are going to feel 100%, you are not always going to look in the mirror and be happy with your progress or how you look.
