As requested here is the recipe for the sticky and sweet Chinese pork belly. It's quick to throw together then it's a slow braise in the oven or slow cooker to make the pork really tender. Better than any takeaway you'll get! Credit to @dumplingsisters for the recipe which I slightly tweaked #dumplingsisters SERVES 5 Calories per serving 680 Protein 36g Carbs 26g Fat 47g INGREDIENTS 1kg PORK BELLY SLICES, CUT INTO CHUNKS got mine from @lidlukofficial 3 TBSP CORNFLOUR MIXED WITH SALT AND BLACK PEPPER 2 TBSP COOKING OIL 2 CHOPPED PEPPERS 2 CHOPPED ONION'S 1 TBSP LAZY GINGER 1 TBSP LAZY GARLIC FOR THE SAUCE MIX  4 TBSP HOI SIN SAUCE 1 TBSP DARK SOY SAUCE 4 TBSP SWEET CHILLI SAUCE 1 TBSP OF CHINESE COOKING WINE 700ML WATER Cover the sliced pork with the cornflour and seasoning. Heat 1/2 tbsp oil in the pan the cook the pork until crispy on all sides. You'll have to do this in a few batches so you don't overcrowd the pan and use another 1/2 tbsp to cook the rest. Set the pork on a plate to one side add the veg in stir fry in the remaining oil for 2 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic then stir fry for 30 seconds. Add in the sauce mixture then return the pork to the pan with any resting juices followed by the water. Stir it to combine everything then put the pan into the oven for 3 hours at 150 degrees or 1.5 hours at 190 degrees. Slow and low works best though 😉. I used my @lodgecastiron pan which is hob and oven safe. Slow cooker for 8 hours on low/4 hours high. Stir the pork after each hour and add some water if required It's slightly higher calories than my typical 500 calorie meals but pair it with steam vegetables and your onto a winner!  One of my favourites so enjoy. Rice is extra calories. I done fucked up!! 👇👇 Have you had an injury that caused pain when working out? What did you do in order to be able to keep working out or did you take a break? Here's my 3 tips in order to succeed no matter what. So if you've experienced an injury you shouldn't stop going to the gym but what you should do is find a way to keep staying on track. I recently tweaked my shoulder and I've been having a hard time getting a past 90°. So this is what I did. 1. I started mobilizing the tissue to allow myself to heal and get more blood to the area. 2. I started working in a pain-free range of motion focussing on activating the muscle to alleviate any stress. 3. I'm modified my exercises so I don't have to stop working out. What is all this mean you might ask well I'm going to tell you. I'm struggling with my range of motion moving without pain and so what that means is we need to start actually healing the tissue. So mobilization The tissue ie rolling dynamic stretching and rehab/prehab will help to start the repair. Moving in a pain free range of motion will allow you to activate the muscles so it can take over the movement versus relying on wherever the pain is. because the mind is going to go to the pain as it has the most neurological receptors to that area. then when you modify an exercise make sure you don't cut that muscle group out but you shorten the range of motion required and lessen the weight. this will allow your body to actually start the healing process without regressing. Now how do you do that well it all depends on what muscle group or joint is causing you pain. So if you're in this case let me know and that way I can give you specific information as is not enough space on this to tell you haha. Should you stop exercising chances are no. Should you take a rest day well it all depends on where and what the pain is doing to you. I walked on plantar fasciitis for 2 years where it felt like my foot was getting cut off. it slowed me down but I never stopped. Part of loving yourself is improving yourself ❤️ - Body positivity or body acceptance is a big thing on social media at the moment but the truth is loving and accepting yourself doesn’t mean you can’t also have aesthetic goals or want to improve on what you have. In fact, as well as having my own personal goals, most of my clients are also aiming to improve their body composition to different degrees. - Yes, I workout to achieve an aesthetic look but that doesn’t mean to say that I don’t love and accept myself as I am. Of course, self love is always a work in progress but surely part of that is to become the best version of yourself in every way or at least in every way that is important to you ❤️ - On another note - If you’re ever looking for an awesome gym in East Sussex I would definitely recommend checking out @ryebayfitness 👌🏻
