Je sais ce que l’on ressent quand on se sent coupable d’avoir mangé quelque chose. Parce qu’on pense qu’on aurait pas dû le manger. Parce que ce n’était pas « sain ». Parce que ça contenait du sucre ou/et du gras. Je suis passée par là. Mais vous savez ce qui n’est vraiment pas sain ? La restriction. Stresser à propos de la nourriture. La nourriture doit être une source de plaisir; la vie doit être une source de plaisir. Et il faut en profiter ❤️ L’été dernier alors que j’étais en Irlande avec Monsieur, on a décidé de manger dans un resto italien et le choix était tellement dur que j’hésitais avec 2 plats. Bilan ? J’ai pris les 2 ! 😂 J’ai fais ce choix en toute conscience en sachant pertinemment que je ne finirai très probablement aucun plat mais ce que je souhaitais c’était de goûter les 2. Et en bonus j’ai même pu goûter l’assiette d’en face 😅. Et c’est valable à chaque fois, qu’en j’hésite entre 2 aliments et bien je prends les 2 😁. And we need rest to recover and feel strong on our runs. Delete your news app, make a schedule & go to bed early and stop the screens for two hours before bed. Remember alcohol disrupts our REM sleep 😉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anddd are you stressed? Ummm, that makes sense. Running is also a stress to the body. Doing hard workouts right now may not be the best idea. Listen to your body. This may not be true for everyone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And how about that workout sched? It’s awesome that we have exercise as a means to relieve stress, access to new free workouts on Facebook, Zoom, etc...but maybe your legs are tired from trying new squat lunge swing kicks ( 😂 ) and it’s affecting your running. mini cinnamon rolls! so easy and little brother approved - - -INGREDIENTS: 4 crescent rolls (can be lightened up a lot by using low fat crescent rolls but the store only had regular ) , swerve confectioners sugar, cinnamon, and butter (swipe for measurements ) - - - -STEPS: pre heat over at 350°, roll out crescent rolls and press together, melt butter and spread over top of rolls, sprinkle a mix of the sugar and cinnamon on top of butter. Roll up crescent rolls and then cut into 12 baby rolls. bake until the bottoms are browned - - - -THE GLAZE: I mixed 3 tbsp of Sweeve sugar with a tbsp almondmilk and a dash of vanilla extract (not included in recipe above )

Shame; that ugly little word for big ass feelings. Failing brings shame right to the forefront of my life, talking about failing is hard. I was raised in a way that didn’t leave room for failure. Failure meant I was a bad, undeserving person, and at my core, a failure myself. I have a song I made and sing for my kids to remind them (but mostly me ) that failure is ok. > > We do fall down. It’s ok to make mistakes, you’re learning and growing every day; sometimes you make a silly choice and that’s okay, because we love you anyway!” > > Singing this song helps remind me that they are human, making mistakes is part of learning and growing. It is not only “okay” it is expected. I need to be reminded a lot. I’m not going to beat myself up, I do want to process, learn, and be able to get past the places where I have gotten stuck so often. I like my @whole30 experience to be as easy and seamless as possible as I know challenges will come my way and I want to be ahead of them! Welcome to my life! . Prepping for Whole30 starts the week before and here’s what I do to get ready: 🔥 Start cutting back on non-Whole30 foods. I started cutting out gluten 2 days ago, I will cut out dairy on Friday, and reduce sugar this weekend. This helps me to feel less cranky, irritable, and reduces the withdrawals that can come (especially from sugar ). Try to start incorporating 1 Whole30 meal into your day for the remainder of this week! Maybe even up it to 2 on the weekend. Your body and mind will thank you! . 📚 I order a copy of Whole30 Day by Day! This boomerang is a true representation of how I feel about this book! This book was my lightbulb moment and changed my mindset around food and my habits related to my health journey! I don’t do life without it and neither do my clients! . ❤️I clean. I clean out my pantry and fridge so nothing I reach for will be something I need to check a label on (because I already have ) and put all the things I can have in my line of sight and the things I can’t have further back in the fridge or on a higher/lower shelf. . 🤘I have fun! This journey does not have to suck and it doesn’t have to feel or taste like deprivation. . 🍴 I meal prep. The air fryer, instant pot, oven, and stove top are typically all going at the same time. Why? Because even though we are in quarantine and have the time to cook, I don’t necessarily want to. I want this process to be easy, to grab something and reheat, to have food on hand ready to go making my only job to be putting the food in my mouth! . Just a little background on me if you’re interested... as a teenager I struggled with an eating disorder that literally took over my whole life for what turned out to be almost 7 years. I’m blessed to have recovered with a lot of help and support, which led me to feel as strongly about #antidietculture and #eatingdisorderecovery as I do now. Throughout my undergrad and masters, I studied nutrition sciences and tried pretty much every single diet to try to find out which one was the best one. I tried vegan, vegetarian, keto, paleo, low-carb, plant-based, no sugar, etc. You name it, I’ve tried it. AND LET ME TELL YOU. None of them worked. Or stuck for more than a few weeks at most. DUH. I don't eat breakfast until 12pm-1pm some days so I tend to eat late dinner more often than not. Everyone has a different eating schedule and different times when they feel hungry. Don't force yourself to eat an early breakfast or starve yourself because 'it's too late. Instead, prioritize the quality of the food you're eating and find what eating schedule works best for you.💛


I made cabbage soup with organic chicken, carrots, onion, @jovialfoods wheat noodles, and sourdough bread for dipping. 🍵 The trick to tastier soup is to sauteé the veggies in @chosenfoods avocado oil and seasoning before adding water. Cabbage is great for hormonal health and digestion it's also an affordable option that makes a great soup. 🧡

🥥 sweet COCONUT cilantro lime turkey meatballs!! the sauce has a base of coconut flavors, hint of sweetness from honey, tartness from lime and a fresh garnish of cilantro flavor 🙌🏼 i usually make my meatballs from scratch. i like to control what ingredients go in and play around with the flavors! this is my go-to meatball recipe which can be subbed with ground chicken or beef! served on top of rice and side of broccolini 😛 —————————— ingredients: *turkey meatballs: makes 15 1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup shredded cheese of choice
1 egg
1 cup raw chopped veggies (bell peppers, spinach, zucchini )
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
olive oil, for cooking . *creamy coconut cilantro lime sauce: 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp butter 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 cup vegetable stock 2 tbsp fresh lime juice 2 tbsp honey 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 1 1/2 cups canned coconut milk 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 3 tsp tapioca starch 2 green onions 2 tbsp fresh cilantro salt and pepper to taste —————————— directions: 1. preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking pan, leave to side. 2. mix together all meatball ingredients and form into 16-20 meatballs. 3. heat up a skillet with olive oil and cook until browned on the outside. place on baking tray and bake for 18-20 minutes. 4. meanwhile, add all creamy coconut cilantro lime sauce ingredients into a large pot to simmer on low heat. when meatballs are done, add to pot, toss in sauce and allow to simmer on low for another 3-5 minutes. 5. stir in green onions and cilantro at the end. serve on top of rice! #winniesbalance

i’ve been loooovin’ lemon flavors recently 🍋 since there were a bunch of lemons at home, i obviously had to put them to good use and make a lemon raspberry poppyseed loaf! this loaf was SO moist with a delicate light crumb. it’s the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness! i added in @siggisdairy raspberry plant-based blend to give it a hint of raspberry flavor! this blend is non-dairy and has a thick, creamy texture. it’s delicious by itself or in baked loaves like this 👅👅 —————————— ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, melted 3/4 cup coconut sugar 1 egg 3 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup almond milk 2/3 cup @siggisdairy raspberry yogurt 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tbsp poppyseeds 2 tbsp lemon zest 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp sea salt lemon glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 tbsp poppyseeds —————————— directions: 1. preheat oven to 350 F. prepare loaf 9 x 5 pan with parchment paper. 2. in a large mixing bowl, mix together melted butter and sugar. add in egg, lemon juice, vanilla extract and almond milk. lastly, mix in yogurt. 3. add in flour, poppyseeds, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. 4. transfer batter into loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. while the loaf is baking, prepare lemon glaze. drizzle ALL OVER loaf when completely cool, giving it at least 15-20 minutes. slice in thick slices 😆 **store extras in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freezer up to 1 month! #winniesbalance

it’s friday and the weekend is rolling around, but with the quarantine, it’s always time to make something N E W - like these LEMON CHIA SEED MUFFINS with a lemon glaze! 🍋 i wanted to make lemon poppyseed muffins but realized i had no poppyseeds... but hey, these were a great alternative!! honestly, my mood recently is defined as baking and cooking. there’s true excitement when the timer goes off 😆 there’s even more excitement when you take that anticipated satisfying first bite in 👌🏼👌🏼 i might bake some chocolate chip blondies in a bit. happy friday! hope you’re all staying safe and making the best of all this 💗 —————————— ingredients: makes 9 muffins 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup @fourthandheart ghee, melted 3 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup @newbarnorganics almond milk 2/3 cup yogurt 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup whole wheat flour 2 tbsp lemon zest 2 tbsp chia seeds 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp sea salt lemon glaze: 1 cup @woodstockfoods confectioners (powdered ) sugar, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp melted butter —————————— directions: 1. preheat oven to 350 F. prepare muffin tin with liners, spray with oil. 2. in a large mixing bowl, mix together maple syrup, melted butter, lemon juice, vanilla extract and almond milk. mix in yogurt. 3. in another large mixing bowl, add flours, lemon zest, chia seeds, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. mix well. add dry ingredients into wet ingredients. 4. transfer batter into muffin tins until 2/3 full. bake for 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. while the muffins are baking, prepare lemon glaze. drizzle on top of muffins after muffins are cooled for 10 minutes. **these are best the same day they’re made! store extras in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freezer up to 1 month! #winniesbalance

HONEYYY sesame soba noodles! it’s asian-inspired and light in flavor! when it comes to noodles, it’s really all about the sauce to bring flavor. this sauce is made with sesame oil, cashew butter, honey and tamari! soba noodles are made from both buckwheat and wheat flour. “soba” is the japanese name for buckwheat! if you have 15 minutes to boil noodles, mix together a sauce and saute veggies, i got you!! 👊🏼 —————————— ingredients: 4 oz soba noodles 1 cup broccoli 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips 1 whole carrot, cut into strips 1/2 cup edamame toppings: green onions and sesame seeds **honey sesame sauce: 2 tbsp sesame oil 2 tbsp @woodstockfoods cashew butter 2 tbsp @wedderspoonofficial manuka honey 2 tbsp tamari 1 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar 1 garlic clove, minced —————————— directions: 1. in a large pot, cook noodles according to package instructions. drain and add back into pot. 2. mix together sauce; sesame oil, cashew butter, honey, tamari, rice vinegar and garlic, then leave to side. 3. in a medium skillet, heat up 1 tbsp sesame oil and cook broccoli, red bell peppers and carrot strips for 1 minute. 4. add veggies into pot with noodles and edamame. pour sauce all over and toss to coat! garnish with fresh green onions and sesame seeds on top! #winniesbalance

Who has tried something new they found in their pantry?! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ found some wheat berries from a few years ago (they were totally fine to eat lol ) and LOVED them! Small little grains that are chewy and nutty and packed with some protein and fiber. I've been tossing them in salads with some greens, veggies, and protein to make grain bowls. This one has massaged kale with some olive oil, wheat berries, air fryer carrots and beets, sauerkraut, avocado, and pan fried salmon. So so good! Also, air fryer carrots are amazing! These carrot cake protein bars are made with dates, raisins, carrots, walnuts, cinnamon, and protein powder and then topped with a cinnamon vanilla icing (aka vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, and almond milk lol )! pesto ravioli, baked tomato basil salmon and green beans!! classic 😛 most of my salmon filets are baked from frozen! i buy them from @wholefoods since i love the flavor of their thick filets 💯 nutritionally, nothing is lost when the fish is frozen and it’ll maintain it’s best quality for 2-3 months if properly stored! . baked tomato basil salmon: preheat oven to 425F. coat with @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil. sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and dried basil. add halved grape tomatoes on top and bake for 15 minutes! this @kitehillfoods spinach ricotta ravioli is a blend of creamy almond milk ricotta with sauteed spinach. it was boiled, rinsed and tossed in pesto! i made extras for dinner too 👌🏼 #winniesbalance
