These are the leg stretches I do religiously after EVERY single workout. I started doing this routine a couple years ago with just the intention of increasing my flexibility & mobility but without any real goal in mind. . But this summer I discovered that it has really paid off as I made HELLA progress in my splits!😁 . . So here’s the routine: 💫pigeon pose stretch 💫butterfly stretch 💫straddle (stretch to middle, to each leg, then middle again ) 💫seated hamstring stretch 💫deep squat stretch 💫downward facing dog 💫cobra pose/upward facing dog 💫childs pose 💫low lunge (from downward dog ) 💫bent over hamstring stretch 💫splits practice . I hold these a lot longer than shown obviously lol I just know most people have an attention span of -5 seconds so I tried to cut it as short as possible🙃 . . My splits aren’t where they were a few weeks ago cuz I’ve been feeling stressed and stiff lately BUT my goal is still to get a full split eventually😊 not setting a specific day cuz MED SCHOOL IS ENOUGH FRICKEN STRESS AS IT IS TYVM. Yes I might be dying on the inside a lil bit😓 Ok I’m done thanks for coming to my ted talk🙂 . Hope this is helpful for anyone in need of a stretching routine! . . Don’t forget to add some fun into your workouts! Do you miss the gymnastics classes from when you were 9? Throw a couple cartwheels into your day. Had your yellow belt when you were 10? Take a kickboxing or self defense class. Former dancer or always wanted to try it? A barre class might be something for you. Working out doesn’t have to always be running on a treadmill then hitting the free weights. Mixing it up is good for the mind and body 😃 .
