This #homeworkout is a variety of exercises with a few emphasizing #glutes 🔥 Exercises: 1️⃣ Deadlift ➡️ #squat 2️⃣ Curls 3️⃣ Shoulder raise and Lunge 4️⃣ Seated rows in low V-sit (modification perform with feet on the ground ) 5️⃣ Donkey kicks in bear pose (perform with knee on the ground if difficult to maintain position ) 6️⃣ Hip extension x2 ➡️ Push-up 7️⃣ Seated SL extension/ press 📝 Perform all 6️⃣ exercises (1️⃣&2️⃣ are the same ) x10 reps each side when applicable (I want you to focus on proper form and control 👍🏻 ) for 3-5 rounds. Do I miss the gym? Yes. I miss having a vast range of dumbbells, kettlebells & machines to choose from. But do you know what? I'm really enjoying the challenge of having to switch up what I usually do. . Social distancing has completely changed the way I view exercise. I'm just using my bodyweight to train & this has reminded me how effective that can be. . 💪 Before this week, I had only ever done 5 pushups in a row, but a few days ago I did a set of 15. . 🧘‍♀️ I've started doing a 30 day yoga programme. I've never massively enjoyed yoga because I found it quite hard to do something so 'still' but I've realised how good it is to stretch and focus on breathing for a short period every day. . 💃 I'm doing things I wouldn't usually do such as copying YouTube videos. Who knew there were so many free resources out there?! . 🚶‍♀️ I'm going for a walk every afternoon - I always tried to do this but didn't realise how much I valued that bit of fresh air and before now didn't accept that walking really is just as good of a workout as anything else. . . BE YOUR OWN MOTIVATION ⚡️⁣ I find myself looking through old photos a lot these days, and not only do I reminisce and wish for sunnier days, but I am finding a lot of motivation through this. Partly because there were times I was arguably in better shape and I can’t wait to get back to that point, but mostly because I remember how unhappy I was in certain ways. And I never ever want to get back to that.⁣ I am working so hard on being the best version of myself and for me, that means letting go of habits that, while fine for others, were awful for me. 💥BLOG POST💥 - Wanted to highlight some of the things which frustrate me about a lot of the things I see and hear with working out from home. - It was meant to be an insta post but turned into a rant so I made it a blog post. You can read the full piece through the LINK IN MY BIO. - The short of it though, how to manage intensity, and create a required stimulus without access to equipment. - “Beyond the challenge of repetition, and trying hard not to bore your clients with your programming, is the challenge of creating a workout that offers a stimulus close to what you can in the gym. Doing this through aerobic work is relatively easy- but generating the same fatigue and sensation you get from a heavy strength piece is by no means straight forward. It’s not impossible but you end up filling a lot of suitcases up with a lot of rice and books. - So let’s look past this now. Perhaps adding weight to your workout isn’t actually the best way to create muscle fatigue or create the deep muscular burn you’re after. Let go of the notion that ‘weight is the only way to create intensity’ for a second. In my opinion before you jump straight to loading there is a tiered approach that you shouldn’t overlook. Like a staircase; take each step rather than jumping 3...”
