It is crazy how fast you can change your body if you believe you can do it. Started at 102kg in October 2019 and reached 87kg in July 2020. Also, could not train properly between March and July because of the lockdown, but by managing my calories I still managed to drop weight. ✨Let’s talk adherence.✨ You think you are tracking your macros perfectly and sticking to your plan. You are tracking 1,300 calories everyday putting everything in MyFitnessPal and you can’t seem to see the scale go down. What you don’t realize is that splash of creamer in your coffee, the nibble of peanut butter, that dash of olive oil in the pan add up to a significant amount of extra calories by the end of the day that you don’t track. It could be 300, 400, 500 extra calories you are consuming and that puts you at 1800 extra calories each day. Which isn’t bad, but then the weekend hits and you want to go out with the girls, you have some drinks,( probably a few too many ) and you eat greasy bar food and then you go back to restricting. It feels like you are working hard all the time. Which are putting in the work, but you aren’t having adherence 100%. The other factor is you are restricting so much that makes you more likely to want to nibble throughout the day or over eye ball portions, and instead of one drink and a few fries you have 4 or 5 drinks with fries, nachos, and mozzarella sticks. You aren’t being aware of the extra little calories you are consuming and you are allowing yourself to have a binge fuck it mentality when you go out. It’s about having discipline, but also finding balance to still go out and have things in moderation. Strength. I don’t think ‘big muscles’, I don’t ‘think lifting heavy’, I don’t see a ‘bodybuilder’. When it comes to strength I think independence, I think self sufficient, I think injury prevention, I think ‘not dying from falling down’ when i’m an old codger. This type of ‘strength’ is what I try bring to awareness with clients. Gaining muscle, being able to lift heavy things and changing your body aesthetically is a byproduct of being strong. But look at the big picture, think about the long game; you’ll be physically resilient as fuck as you journey through life. You’re less likely to give way under physical stress, you’re able to work for longer periods. You’re less likely to get injured, you reduce your risk of muscle pulls and back pain. Daily tasks are easier to do. And more importantly, you can use your strength to help others. “Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general” - Mark Rippetoe

Dealing with a little tendonitis in my R shoulder so I decided to focus on cardio today! 20 min on the fan bike which was a grinder 🥵 Fan bikes resistance increases the faster you pedal! After the fan bike I finished up with another 20 min on the elliptical! I would do a moderate pace for 5 min then all out for 30 sec!
