I got a 70 year old disabled Nam Vet to do 20 push ups, 10 chin ups, deadlift 225 # and overhead db press with 50 # dumbbells after being told for years he couldn't lift more than 20 pounds. This week I have started my small steps to a bigger goal challenge. In order for me to properly lose weight I have to set myself up for success, which means starting off small and work my way up. Each goal will have 3 weeks to build on. For this week my goal is to at least drink 32 oz of water every single day. If i drink more, then that's awesome but as long as I'm meeting this goal its a success. Next week my ounces will increase and by the 3rd week I will be drinking as much as my doctor requested me too. I wish I had listened to / come across this sort of advice about 4 years ago when I first started working on my 'weight loss/fitness journey' (I hate the 'journey' word as everyone uses it, but in my case it is probably the best description & it's been a very windey road I've been on🤣🤣 ). . I've read, listen & watched a lot of information & advice over this period that has made me constantly change, tweak, alter the direction I was going . Change my diet/what I eat/type of diet/even changing complete types of food I eat, mostly opposite to what I imagine 90% of the population would do, and certainly not what governments are 'recommending you do' or for that matter, many so called influencers out there, as there is so much BS / upselling going on! . Also totally changing my exercise, my focus, type of exercise, amount & reasons for doing it. . I'm also so glad I set relatively easy short term goals, not overwhelming big ones, otherwise it's too easy to give up and not bother, because it's too hard or you may think you aren't ever going to achieve them . I'd say if I decide to do anything, then once I'm on that path, I tend to be pretty full on👌, then keep raising the bar & want to do better . . . . I know it’s #FaceToFaceFriday , but I had to switch it up because NEW LEGS, WHO DISSSS! 🦵 I get a lot of comments/questions about my legs. No, my legs are not naturally lean/toned — they have majorly transformed throughout my journey. 📚 Story Time 📚 • • I joined @ww for the first time in 2014. I was so depressed and my wonderful grandma told me about #weightwatchers because her best friend’s daughter lost weight and it worked for her. • • I was in college and had no money so my sweet grandma said she would pay for my membership as long as I stuck with it. I joined with meetings and tracked online. I think I lost 10 or 12 pounds but then ended up stopping because I just didn’t care. • • Late 2015 or early 2016 I decided to join again. I had a serious boyfriend and knew we were going to get engaged and needed to look good for potential engagement pictures. I started again at 212. We ended up getting engaged in Dec 2016 and I’m pretty sure I was over 208 pounds. • • In 2017, I lost 50 lbs. I was 184 on my wedding day thanks to @orangetheory and @ww . Last year, my weight went from 188 to 177 to 184. My husband and I bought our first house and I haven’t been able to drop back to 184. I was 193.4 the day I rejoined @ww and last Wednesday I hit 5 pounds gone!! The first photo is from February 19. I REMEMBER how I felt taking the picture. I was bloated, unhappy, embarrassed.
