Persivalgymas kartojosi. 🎂🍾🥂🎉

QUARANTINE DOES NOT CANCEL THE NEED TO NOURISH YOUR BODY.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ No amount of supplements, essential oils, juice cleanses or “clean eating”could save us from COVID-19. 🤚🏽⠀ ⠀ Buuuuttt ....doesn’t mean we just throw in the towel and not honor our health. Yesterday I heard @healingcrayons say, “I think of everything I eat as good for me” on her instagram live, and it really resonated with me... I can’t articulate exactly how at the moment, so I’ll just leave it at that for now. #nobadfoods

😂Welcome back beauties 👏🏽 I never doubted you!! Weird how we can TOTALLY survive on juices/celery/extremely low calories until one day actual fears of potential scarcity and famine hit and we realize these things we can’t live off and are unsustainable for survival... Now, does this mean the world is finally done being afraid of carbs?! 🤪

Getting through these long ass days as best as I can 🍪🍹& no I’m not stressing about a possible #quarantinefifteen . I didn’t subscribe to diet culture before this pandemic & I’m not signing up now. Purging my Insta-feed of accounts pushing quarantine weight loss tips & pumping fit tummy teas #byefelicia Don’t get me wrong, we do work to maintain a healthy lifestyle with healthy home cooked meals & plenty of activity. But there’s enough pressure right now to keep my business afloat, homeschool my kids & make them 1million snacks each day, that I will not be adding weight loss goals to the list of mounting pressures 💁🏻‍♀️And here’s just a friendly reminder that you don’t either. I spend my days inside closed in. Alone. . Sure there are mornings when I go get coffee or I go to the grocery store over my lunch break. But for the most part it’s just me. . I FaceTime my family. I call my friends. I send memes and tiktoks to my coworkers. But it’s not the same as breathing in someone’s space. Or bumping up against someone in a tiny kitchen when you’re making dinner. . That immediate contact is gone. And that’s coming from someone who struggles with physical touch daily. . My motivation and productivity look so different now. Yes, I know that’s understandable. And even precedented. But it still amazes me. . I’ve been trying to read more for a long time. And now I’m reading. (I’m still bu he watching the vampire diaries at the same time...but I’m reading ) . I’m picking books that interest me. I’m reading a lot of YA and fantasy romance. And it’s a step into another world completely beyond this one. There’s sword fights and steamy romance scenes. It’s a welcome change of pace. . But at the same time I’ve been trying to do laundry for 2 weeks. And I’ve been trying to do my Etsy orders for a week. And the motivation just isn’t there. It feels miserable to push myself to cut stickers and pack orders. But I also need the money especially now so it’s a necessity. . This is just an odd combination of emotions and feelings and behaviors and actions. And I’m still picking them apart. . Leave a 💜 below and tell me what you’re doing to get through this time in the world.

Like so many things in Pilates, this one looks easy, but if you were in my Zoom semi private tonight you can testify that it is NOT. Not only do you feel all the things in the backs of your arms, but you’re exhaling on the straighten and lift of the chest, calling in deeper exhalations to not just activate deeper core support but to help propel you back to the start position and maintain balancing on one leg WHILE you’re trying not to let your chest collapse or low back or elbows to hyperextend or let your head drop out of alignment or allow gravity to do the job for you. There are a loooot of things happening at once here, and accomplishing the multitask of it all definitely it hard, tells us we’re getting the most out of the movement, but also keeps it mentally stimulating and forces you to stay right there in that moment— not thinking about your to do list or your work mtg or what’s for dinner or whatever else is stuck in the back of your mind before you hit the mat. It’ll be waiting for you when you finish, I promise. Leave it for a half hour and take the time to work on feeling good- I promise it’ll make everything else way more doable.

I’ve been seeing pics floating around ALL OVER social lately, usually with just the bathing suit on the fridge with a sign stating “You’re not hungry, you’re bored. Go away!” Or some form of that. I’m not here for it 🙅🏼‍♀️ We shouldn’t be weight focused ANY TIME, but right now? It shouldn’t be anywhere near where our focus should be. **Some tips** 🌱unfollow accounts touting weight loss if it’s triggering you right now. 🌱 comfort eating is normal! We’re in the middle of a damn pandemic. Realize it. Own it. 🌱you are allowed to eat when you’re hungry! Stop suppressing your hunger. It’ll mess up your metabolism. (I’ve done it to myself ) 🌱all feelings are valid right now I am recovering from disordered eating, so I know what’s it’s like to feel out of control around food from restriction and deprivation. If you are feeling those feelings, it’s okay and there are awesome accounts to follow that can help. Diet culture is f*cking LOUDDDDDD right now. And these messages I keep seeing can harm those that are already feeling low, or are trying to recover. Know that you have the right to eat. That you don’t need to work on a “summer body” (really culture’s view of it ) if you don’t want to. That you are allowed to survive. That you won’t care 20 years from now if you gained weight during quarantine. Take care of yourself ❤️

⁣ WORTHY WEDNESDAY⁣ ⁣ The other day I had someone comment on a picture of me saying:⁣ ⁣ ‘so you’re saying that being obese isn’t wrong?’⁣ ⁣ I had some choice words that initially came to thought, and then I realized this was an opportunity. An opportunity to inform someone who has been led to believe in this ignorant and harmful view. So I responded: ⁣ ⁣ ‘correct. Being obese is not WRONG.’ ⁣ ⁣ My body is not WRONG.⁣ Your body is not WRONG. ⁣ No matter it’s shape, size, colour, ability, anything else.. your body is not WRONG. ⁣ ⁣ Your body, my body, every body is WORTHY! ⁣ Don’t let anyone else’s view make you feel otherwise. ⁣ ⁣ On Wednesdays, we wear kindness! ⁣ ⁣ 📸 @brittbarzeelephoto#mybodyisntwrong #normalizenormalbodies #effyourbodystandards #normalizeallbodies #bodypositive #selfacceptance #bodyacceptance #dietculturedropout #dietculture#allbodiesaregoodbodies #allbodiesarebeautiful#mysizerox

I just want you to be happy.⁣ And naked. ⁣ Most importantly, happy while naked 💛⁣ __________________________________________⁣ ⁣ For so long I hated seeing myself in the mirror before I got into the shower. I’d get in and cry. As the water hit me I became even more aware of my body and the parts I hated, I cried harder. The only saving grace I had was that the mirrors would be too fogged up for me to see my reflection when I got out. ⁣ ⁣ For so long I got on a scale every day. Multiple times a day. And stared at a number that I let control me. Define me. It became me. ⁣ ⁣ My identity was wrapped around how much weight I lost or gained that day. My identity was based on a system of beliefs that skinny is better no matter the cost. That one day I’d get undressed before I showered and liked what I saw. ⁣ ⁣ That one day never came when my reflection was the scale staring back at me. No matter how low the number got, all I saw was the pounds on my hips. The flab under my arms. The stretch marks on my thighs. All I saw was failure. What needed to be lost. ⁣ ⁣ And the only thing that needed to be lost was the scale and this idea in my head of the perfect body. In the process of trying to “better” myself, I lost myself. And nothing in this world is worth it if you lose yourself along the way. ⁣ ⁣ So I challenge you to take some time and just sit with yourself. Naked. Trace your fingers across your stomach, your hips, the parts of you that you fill with hate everyday. ⁣ ⁣ Today I want you to fill them with love. Even if it makes you cry. Fill yourself up with kindness and grace. Just sit with yourself and enjoy being free, even if it’s only for a few seconds. ⁣ ⁣ A few seconds a day can turn into moments. Into minutes. Into hours. Into days. ⁣ ⁣ Today is the day you start to strip the hate away 💛⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #normalizenormalbodies #edrecovery #eatingdisorderrecovery #selflove #bodyacceptance #selflovejourney #haes #mentalhealthmatters #disorderedeating #dietculture #dietculturedropout #ditchthediet #ditchthescale #loveyourself #youarebeautiful #loveyourbodynow #loveyourbody #selfacceptance #allbodiesaregoodbodies #letsgetnaked

Real > perfect.⁣ ⁣ And also it’s literally impossible to be perfect. When we hold ourselves to that high of a standard, the only place to end up is below the bar 😕 which then makes us feel like we are failing, which then makes us feel bad, etc. etc.⁣ ⁣ Let’s aim for more attainable (and healthy ) things! Aim for “I did my best” or “this is all I have energy for and that’s ok”.⁣ ⁣ Let’s normalize being real, not being perfect.⁣ 🥰 ⁣ P.S. I’m accept virtual clients for WA and UT. Hi! I'm Stefanie and I'm happy you're here. But instead of talking about me today, I'd like to talk about you. # My following is small but mighty. I invite you to connect with me whenever you feel inspired to do so (I'm a sucker for connection ). # And if you're just joining--welcome! # You might want to join this community if you identify with any of the following: # ✅ You struggle with binge eating disorder. . ✅ You struggle with body image. . ✅ You are a mom with either of the above, OR you are feeling tired of diet culture and feel curious about breaking free from it. . ✅ Your struggle with food and body image has led to a self-growth journey that you'd like to cultivate further. . ✅ Anyone else who just likes to read what I write about diet culture and self acceptance. ✨DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH CONSISTENCY?⁣ -⁣ Tell me if this sounds familiar: you eagerly start a new exercise program, work diligently through it for about a few weeks and then.. your runners start creeping further and further to the back of the closet and before you know it you’ve completely fallen off. It happens!! But here’s how to make sure it doesn’t:⁣ -⁣ 🌼START SLOW: one of the biggest mistakes I see is when people start off way too hard and then struggle to maintain that frequency and inevitably fall off track. Be realistic with how often and for how long you think you’ll be able to exercise - it’s better to be consistent with a few times a week than irregular with several!⁣ 🌼JOYFUL MOVEMENT: doing exercise you actually LIKE is one of the greatest predictors of exercise adherence. Try a variety of classes to see what you’re into and remember that above all, exercise should be fun!⁣ 🌼SET GOALS: without something to work towards, we can lose our purpose. Pick a few tangible goals and work diligently towards them - reaching a goal is one of the biggest motivators and you’ll be so proud of your achievement you’ll want to do even more!⁣ 🌼BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE: just knowing that someone is going to be checking up on you to make sure you’re doing the work can make all the difference! Whether it’s a workout buddy, your significant other or your trainer (wink wink 😏 )⁣ -⁣ Need a bit more guidance in order to reach your goals? I’m currently accepting new online coaching clients - check out my website in my bio or send me a dm to learn more! 💕

Something to consider as you notice fears around not being able to stop eating certain foods right now while you are at home: restriction and dieting over time is often one of the main causes of decreased food variety in the diet. All the rules and restriction of food/food groups leads to less and less foods that are permissible and therefore variety decreases. It is a very common fear when starting to change your relationship with food or when you are going through recovery, that if you did give yourself full unconditional permission to have all foods, that this would then lead to you eating things like sweets, chips, carbs, etc. for forever. While this is a normal, natural fear, and a fear I might add that has been taught you via messaging around not trusting your body, this is not what we see happen. That actually, what happens overtime, as you habituate to foods and normalize them, we see that food variety increases.

This is for anyone who needs to hear this. You will not instantly lose 10 pounds from eating a salad and you will not instantly gain 10 pounds from eating a cupcake! 🙌🏼👇 . . However, you will have a terrible relationship with food and stress yourself out if you let those thoughts control your every bite. Food is meant to be enjoyed. It’s not meant to dictate and control your life. Do you go into each meal thinking about how much weight you might gain? Or if that superfood smoothie is going to cleanse your body down to a size 0? It’s time to let go of those thoughts! You are in control of your thoughts around food. So, the next time you have a delicious cupcake sitting in front of you please enjoy it and move on! 🙌🏼 . . If you are tired of having food control you and your thoughts it may be time to seek out some support! Apply to my 1:1 nutrition coaching program. 🌟Link in bio🌟

You don’t owe it to anyone to look a certain way... If you’re an RD you don’t need to have a thin body to preach the importance of healthy eating. In that same vain, if you support initiative eating and HAES but also happen to be thin or even fit, your support for these movements are still valid! Also you don’t need to have six pack abs, a toned booty, or even be fit to share your love of exercise. Remember that you can’t tell someone’s eating habits, qualifications, or activity level solely by looking at them. & the way your body looks in this moment, how it looked 5 years ago, and what it looks like 5 years from now it’s perfectly okay. It doesn’t matter what your career is, where your passions lie, or what your beliefs are. None of these characteristics have to have a certain look. The way your body is shaped needs no justification or defense.

Ditching diets for good can be a little bit scary. : Diets offer a sense of structure. They provide rules to follow for eating. They free you up from having to make too many choices about what to eat. : Diets provide hope. Hope is really, really powerful. Diets provide hope for a better life, a healthier life, a better you. : Leaving this structure and hope behind will be uncomfortable for a little while but on the other side of the uncomfortable-ness, you'll find so much more than what the diet gave you. : You'll find that eating when you're hungry provides structure. You'll find that basing food choices on how the food makes you feel is a great "rule" to follow. You'll find that making your own food choices is pretty awesome. You'll find that you didn't need the hope promised by a diet to create a better or healthier life and you'll find that a life without diet is better and healthier.

Not wanting to workout or eat a certain way does NOT mean you’re lazy or unmotivated, lacking in willpower or determination, or anything of the sort. You are not exhibiting any character flaw here. *Now take this bucket of compassion, pour it all over yourself, and listen.*⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Generally, we’re told to just PUSH THROUGH feelings of exhaustion, soreness, and/or mental fatigue. We’re told just to persevere anyway and stick to the plan if we want to be “healthy”.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ *But pushing through these feelings and sensations dismisses them, creating distrust with the body.*⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The TRUTH is, the exhaustion, soreness, mental fatigue, or anything else we might be feeling can reveal deeper truths to us. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ *In acknowledging our feelings, sensations and desires instead, and in taking a minute to attune to the body and its needs in the moment, we can discover what really needs, allowing us to work WITH it, not AGAINST it.*⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So maybe you feel like you “should” eat the preplanned meal, do the high intensity workout, track your calories, exercise X times per week…⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But maybe your body is simply asking for a minute to breathe! Maybe it’s asking for cold water or a hot cup of tea, maybe its hungry, maybe it’d enjoy a walk, a run, a nap, a bath, a puzzle, a hug (or virtual phone call! ), or something else. The body can also want the healthy snack, the high intensity workout, etc. It’s only in listening and honoring the body’s needs that we can know.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And when we do replace all the things we feel we “should” be doing with listening to and honoring our bodies instead, motivation no long waivers, movement is no longer punishing, trust with the body is built, and your eyes widen to all the possibilities available to you to meet your needs best… On your terms. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ **Ready to work WITH your body instead of fighting against it with unsustainable diets and punishing exercise regimes? I invite you to DM to connect. My passion is to see you live a bright, healthy, meaningful and blissful life, unbound to food and body anxieties.**⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ XO, AB⁣⁣ #intuitiveeatingcoach #registereddietitianapproved #dietculturedropout #lyblprocert #virtualnutritionist #quarantinediet

In the past you have heard me talk about how growing up, I didn’t learn how to process my emotions. This was a result of growing up in a household that thrives on toxic positivity. ⁣ ⁣ Toxic Positivity is the overgeneralization of a happy, optimistic state that results in the denial, minimization and invalidation of the authentic human emotional experience.⁣ ⁣ We are so wrapped up in a world of “Good vibes only” or “I’m fine, I always am” that we are too ashamed or don't know how to feel anything else. We are teaching the next generation that being happy is the only thing that matters and if you are not happy, you are broken and something is wrong with you. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not perfect. I throw the “I’m going to be fine. I always am.” around sometimes but that is only because I can vocalize my emotions and feelings to myself now and know what I need to do in order to be balanced again. When I post something I don't want positive affirmations…. I want to show you that IT IS OKAY TO FEEL however you need to feel to be okay. ⁣ ⁣ We are in the middle of a Global Pandemic and if you are getting through this quarantine with the “Good vibes only”, I promise you that you are not helping yourself or anyone around you. ⁣ ⁣ IT IS OKAY TO FEEL any or all of the following emotions:⁣ ⁣ ⚫︎ Scared⁣ ⚫︎ Angry⁣ ⚫︎ Hostile ⁣ ⚫︎ Worried⁣ ⚫︎ Bored ⁣ ⚫︎ Lonely ⁣ ⚫︎ Confused⁣ ⚫︎ Irritated ⁣ ⚫︎ Helpless⁣ ⚫︎ Depressed ⁣ ⚫︎ Anxious ⁣ ⚫︎ Frustrated⁣ ⁣ These are called normal emotions and responses to something you have never dealt with before - a global pandemic. ⁣ ⁣ We are in this together. it’s okay to not be “happy” during this time ♥️⁣

“It doesn’t feel like enough”. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re thinking about weight loss, you are probably saddled with that feeling more often than you’d like to admit. ⁣ ⁣ Walking around the block will not be enough, so you’ll do a “real” workout tomorrow. ⁣ ⁣ Cutting back to one cookie in a serving won’t be enough to make a difference, or won’t be enough to be “worth it”. So you’ll eat zero cookies until you eat a whole pack. ⁣ ⁣ 12 years ago, I lost 80 pounds and went from a size 24 to a size 8. For years, I tried to lose 15 more pounds so I could “look more like a trainer.” Last year, I decided that 80 pounds was enough. ⁣ ⁣ And going for a walk is enough. ⁣ ⁣ And eating just one cookie is enough. ⁣ ⁣ What if, instead of trying to do A LOT sometimes, you did all the things you think “aren’t enough” ALL the time? ⁣ #bodypositive #personaltrainer #dietculturedropout #plussizefitness #thickfit #weightlossinspiration #weightlossjourney #fatloss #fatlossjourney #thickfitchick #weightlossmaintenance #lifestylechange #carync #apexnc #enough #youareenough

Self isolation. Social distancing. Spatial distancing. Quarantine. Whatever we are calling it is so so important to ‘flatten the curve’ but has been a massive life change for all of us! . Through all of this, I have never felt more grateful for some of the smaller, more everyday things in life. . 💭What has isolation made you feel grateful for? What are you missing most?💭 . Sending love to you all! . 💖

🍩 ARE YOU UPSET WITH YOUR EATING HABITS RIGHT NOW?⁣ - ⁣ You’re definitely experiencing a change in your usual routine, which likely means your eating habits are a bit different as well. Whether this means more snacking than usual, or eating more than you think you should be, here are a few reminders:⁣ -⁣ ✨the stress of worrying about eating “bad” food is arguably worse for your health than the food itself. Be kind to yourself - your body and mind will thank you! ⁣ ✨uncontrollable snacking and periods of overeating are more so a reaction to restriction than a of lack of willpower. Allowing yourself permission to eat all foods is the only way to stop the binge-guilt cycle ⁣ ✨there is no such thing as good or bad foods - all food provides energy, just in different amounts. ⁣ ✨there is absolutely no diet/cleanse/supplement etc that will protect you from COVID-19. Unfollow anyone who is trying to tell you there is!! ⁣ -⁣ Instead of feeling guilty for what you’re eating, let me know what snacks you’ve been enjoying while self-isolating! Personally I’ve been doing weird things to starburst minis on a regular basis 😏

You’re not gonna try and shrink your feet to fit into shoes that are 3 sizes too small, so why would you do that with clothes? If we can accept that we all have different sized feet, then why can’t we accept that we all have different sized bodies? . The fact of the matter is that not every woman is meant to be the same size, yet we all tend to set goals to be the same size. We set goals to shrink our bodies down to be the same size as the models in the magazines, and when your body is not actually meant to be that size this proves to be extremely difficult, even impossible, to do. . You may reach that “goal” for a period, but then you’ll find it increasingly difficult to maintain.. it’s not your fault if you start gaining weight back, it’s how your body is meant to work!! Your body is just trying to keep you alive, so instead of getting angry with it for gaining the weight back, thank it for keeping you alive!!! And then go get some clothes that comfortably fit you!!! . Diet culture doesn’t stop during a pandemic. . If anything, it ramps up, plays on your fears and tries to make you feel that there’s a right/wrong, good/bad way of eating that will heal you or keep you well. . The most important thing is that you’re eating, eating consistently, eating enough food. . Your eating disorder and diet culture will try to convince you otherwise but don’t buy in! . What’s your favorite food to have right now? Share in the comments or in my stories. . . #dietculture #dietculturesucks #dietculturedropout #dietculturedefense #antidiet #nondiet #fatpositive #fatacceptance #riotsnotdiets #momdietitian #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingofficial #intuitiveeatingjourney #haes #eatingdisorderrecovery #edrecovery #bulimiarecovery #bingeeatingdisorderrecovery #anorexianervosarecovery #foodpeace #bodykindness #foodfreedom #recoverywarriors #dietitianmom #dietculturelies #rd2be #weightstigma #haesig #healthateverysize #covid_19 . 💃Diet vs. No Diet⠀ ⠀ What is the difference? My mindset✨⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⚪When I'm talking about diet I don't mean certain diet for a medical condition or being vegan for ethical reasons. I mean temporary and highly restrictive program of eating in order to lose weight.⠀ ⠀ ⚪Since dieting, by definition, is a temporary food plan, it won't work in the long run. Moreover, the deprivation and constant thinking about food of restrictive diets may lead to a diet-overeat or diet-binge cycle. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ➡️Diets are a short term strategy and therefore their effect is also short term. They don't teach you anything about balanced healthy lifestyle or what are you supposed to do once that month or two is over.⠀ ⠀ ➡️Many of the diets lack essential nutrients and/or are telling you to eat only certain types/ one type of food (eg.celery juice, cabbage soup diet🤯 ). This leads to unhealthy relationship with food. How can you feel ok eating chicken with rice when you spend month eating cabbage and lost weight?⠀ ⠀ ➡️Overly restrictive diets can take all the pleasure out of eating. There is no reason why you should not eat your traditional food or your favourite meals once in a while.⠀ ⠀ ❓Have you ever noticed that every diet product claims it will be magically effective "if used simultaneously with a healthy diet and regular exercise program?" ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 👉Well, why don't we just skip the magic potions?✨⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣The first step towards permanent healthy weight loss is, to lose the diet and the diet mindset.⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣Next step is creating a healthy eating plan that you could live with long term and enjoy your life. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #nondietapproach #nondiet #nondietlife #nondietapproaches #mindsetshift #balancedlife #ditchthediet #foodisnottheenemy #goodbyediet #nourishnotpunish #eatforhealth #intuitiveeating #healthyandhappy #nondietmentality #nondietweightloss #dietsdontworklongterm #dietsdontworklifestylechangesdo #dietculture #dietculturedropout #dietcultureistoxic #shiftyourhealth #martinamirch #exflightattendant #excabincrew#flightattendant #emiratescabincrew

Chocolate for breakfast?! YEP. With no food rules, an-y-thing is possible. Years ago, I never would have dared to put chocolate chips in my oatmeal. Because chocolate was only for nighttime and mayyyybe afternoon if I really craved it. But breakfast?! No way. The truth is I really love melted chocolate chips in my oatmeal lately and I’m just going with it. No questioning it. No doubting it. No shaming it. And you know what? I feel really good after a bowl of creamy oats, banana, nut butter and melted chocolate. And that’s all that freaking matters. Plus chocolate right now is giving me comfort and joy when I need it most. What past or current food rules are you breaking right now? Tell me in the comments!
