WATCH OUT FOR THIS MAN: He is Debt Free 💵💸 What a flipping journey this has been. Remember those days when I was super stoked to get my self out of personal debt? The I launched a business - “Oh it’s on the business” so doesn’t count right? Well aside from the fact that from a tax perspective I am the business (*cough cough thanks @nikki_firth ) the stress that it puts you under is the same. As I sit here in my favourite little spot I’ve been reflected over my celebratory long black ☕️ about the journey that took me here.... I’ve religiously cut costs, squirrelled away every dollar, lived and died by the conditional formatting of my spreadsheet AND sought help to get here. ✅ Profit First was a game changer for me in getting here - thanks to @mikemichalowicz for bringing his wisdom to the world. Seriously guys if you run a business or you’re about to, read it. It’s the barefoot for businesses ✅ I leant on the support of family and friends to ensure the emotional patterns that got me here were left in the bin with all the receipts 🧾- notably @phil .mcgilvray aka Mr Money Skills broke down some simple techniques that saw me not only debt free but with a healthy running cash flow 💰 ✅ I worked on my own preconceptions, celebrated every win, filled my head with good content every single day (like @daveramsey and @chrishogan360 when it comes to wealth ) and kept my headspace focussed on the way forward - not how far there we to to. Good headspace is everything - it’s what I call Pash Flow, and Pash Flow makes the Cash Flow 💥 Where are you at on your debt free journey team? 💰 ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #money #budgeting #finances #personalfinance #financialpeace #savings #invest #financialindependence #debtfreedom #moneygoals #thepennypioneer #financialfreedom #daveramsey #womeninfinance #financetips #budget #debtfreegoals #debtfreelife #creditcards #frugal #intentionalliving #debtfree #debt #save #debtfreeliving #finance #debtfreejourney #crushdebt #financialgoals #goals

This is only our second month calculating the daily interest charged on our home loan and I was quite surprised that the difference was this much!! . Of course there’s one thing I’m not happy about ..... IT’S AN ODD NUMBER and only 1c off being 30c 😱!!!! So the challenge is on to try and make it a neat 30c for this month 🤣🤣🤣🤣 . . . . . #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #debtfree #financialfreedom #financialindependence #ozdebtfreecommunity #vanguard #ozsavingscommunity #choosefi #budgeting #investing #mrmoneymustache #ficommunity #passiveincome #networth #firemovement #firecommunity #personalfinance #financialpeace #retireearly #financeblogger #daveramsey #barefootinvestor #familyfinance #brisbanemums #financialindependenceretireearly #budgetlife #barefootinvestorforfamilies

I guess July's figure isn't too bad considering I bought a new bed that was about $600! My yearly total is never going to be what I initially planned this year especially when I only have 4 more full pays before I'm unpaid...but that's ok! We adapt! 💬 How have your savings or debt paying been going?

Over here at the DFD house we have two loveable but slightly high maintenance pooches, I'm talking, allergies to grass, skin issues, yeast infections, allergies to gluten, allergies to corn , separation anxiety, over active anal glands (🤮 ), chronic UTIs etc (none of these started until we foster failed on our beagle 4 years ago ). HOWEVER, within the last year we have been fortunate that we didn't need to take them to the vet outside of their annual physical/shots updates. Today changed that. $400 later. I'm thankful we are (almost ) debt free, I'm thankful for pet sinking funds, I'm thankful that I'm not stressed about how I would pay for her bill.

I’ll rather starve than not have wine 🙃. Now I’m not an avid wine drinker or a wine snob for that matter, I never buy anything above $13 and whenever I feel like getting wine.... I make room in my budget no matter how tight it is. It’s important to make room in our budget for things that we enjoy as long as we don’t exceed our income or go too cray cray.⁣ ⁣⁣ What’s one thing you always have room for in your budget?⁣ ⁣⁣ Also are you team white wine or red wine??⁣ ⁣⁣ Red wine makes me sick, literally, there’s only been a few I can actually tolerate.

Sliding into the weekend! My two year old shows the joy everyday. That’s my goal. To love everyday and not live for the weekend. Updated my vision and goals today. One of my ongoing goals is to be debt free by the end of 2021. I know that this is something we as a family can do. It will continue to take dedication and effort. But when a goal means something to you the sacrifice is minimal. Small sacrifices now, big rewards later! If you have not written your goals down, or made a vision board. Go for it! Creating and updating a vision board, even if it is a post it note leads to progression. It allows reflection of where you have been and where you want to go. I have financial goals, health goals, career goals, and family goals. Back in the day... when I was making a half hearted attempt to pay off my debt, I would often make a little bit of progress, but inevitably something would come up, I’d be forced to use my credit card again and I’d be back at square one. If you’re having this issue, here’s what helped me. Having an emergency fund (separate from any kind of savings ) provided a cushion against those unexpected costs. ✧ The recommended amount is $1000 but find amount that works for you. A lot of people feel like this isn’t enough, especially during COVID. If you want a larger amount, that’s fine but remember this isn’t meant to be a savings account. Savings/retirement funds are a whole different conversation. An emergency fund is just meant to provide a little extra cash to keep you from further debt. ✧ Put it in an account that’s accessible but where you won’t be tempted to spend it, like a separate savings account or money market account ✧ If you use any portion of it, treat it like a loan to yourself and replenish it as fast as you can ✧ Book a free call with me through the link in the bio. I’ll help you get your finances in order and figure out an emergency fund amount that works for you to keep you from touching those credit cards! #emergencyfund #debtfreecommunity #debt #millennials #millennialmoneytips #daveramsey #daveramseybabysteps #financialcoach #savingmoney #savings #creditcard #creditcards

Is there such thing as too much in your bank account?!🤔💵 It’s amazing meeting with people and seeing how differently eveoune views money. Some people could have $700 in their savings account and it doesn’t bother them one bit.🤷🏼‍♀️ For another, that would give them a panic attack...And they would be feel broke!😅 If that sounds like you, it’s because big checking/savings balances means security for many people.🔒 You don’t have to worry about if your next paycheck isn’t late, or how you’re going to pay rent. But for some people, the amount they save just keeps going up indefinitely and they never want to see it go backwards! We as human being hate to see numbers go down (except on the scale maybe ), it feels so much better to see them go up!📈 I 💚 cash— it gives you freedom as flexibility to do things and not have to worry about going into debt of an emergency arises. But there is a time where there might be such thing as too much cash... One of the most important things to remember is what are you saving for?💭 ❇️You always want enough in an “Emergency Fund” to be able to cover your fixed expenses for at least 3-6 months (depending on how secure your job is ) ❇️ I would also recommend setting aside enough for whatever known larger expenses you have in the upcoming year (ie: vacation, house renovation/furniture, wedding, etc. ) Checking and savings is a great place for short term goals (<1 year ). Outside of that, there might be more efficient ways to save for intermediate and long term goals! (House purchase, vehicle, retirement, etc. )🏡 Each person is different, and it all depends on your situation, values and priorities. I’m just saying that if you have found yourself saving routinely into a bank account that’s getting awfully large, and you don’t have defined goals for it...it might be a good time to talk about what you’re wanting to accomplish!👍🏻

I set a big goal for August. I then doubted myself. Then I stopped and thought about how we are only 7 days into the month, and I am already preparing myself to fail. How terrible! I have no clue what my side hustle will bring in this month. I have no clue how doing a no spend month will improve my budget. But I do know that if I miss my monthly goal by a hair, it wont be the end of the world. We can all use a little grace. I decided to reward/torture my brain and binge on Indian Matchmaking on Netflix. As this was the catalyst for the end of my most recent relationship (the Indian cultural pressure of arranged marriages, not the Netflix series ), I've been apprehensive. But, I decided to binge on the show while doing data entry yesterday! . If you're sidehustling, it's really important to trick your brain into getting excited about it! Netflix binging it is! . If it feels like grunt work, it is! And, for the last three years of my business, I've always had SOMEONE ELSE do the administrative work that wasn't related to business growth (aka boring data entry ). . But, I'm repositioning my business and looking for a side hustle. At the same time, I had a huge (NEVER-ENDING ) administrative task come in - the same week my dear Nonprofit Development Specialist got a full-time job! . So, I'm diving into data entry - @ $22 per hour! #BEYOUROWNEMPLOYEE ! . Even if you don't have this luxury, start to think of things you typically outsource (lawn mowing, cleaning, eating out, childcare, Ubers ) and then figure out how to HACK IT or DIY it! . You've just created your own side hustle!. . . . . #financialfreedom #firemovement #financialindependence #firecommunity #financialfreedomstartshere #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #debtfreegoals #moneygoals #behappynow #budgeting #budgetgoals #moneysavings #livingonabudget #savingsgoals #daveramsey #ynab #sidehustles #sidehustleideas #sidehustler #sidehustlepro #makemoneyonlinefree @makemoneyfast #makemoneywhileyousleep #makemoneyathome #makemoneytoday #makemoneyfromanywhere #makemoneynow #passiveincomeonline #passiveincomestream

I would also throw in education: What is your perception of an acceptable education? . In any -ship that you have: friendship, partnership, or relationship, all require thorough and honest communication. . Trust that it is much more important to keep it 100 than it is to avoid a topic in fear of hurting someone’s feelings. So I mentioned yesterday the guilt I was feeling about trying to become debt free whilst having children. I thought the pandemic might make it easier not to do things because everyone else is in the same boat. However it turns out lots of people are still going out. Tonight my Facebook feed was full of people on holidays abroad, going to the zoo, crazy golfing or out for a meal at a restaurant. I’m still not super confident to be around lots of people but it makes me feel like a terrible mother that we aren’t going out and doing all these things. Any ideas for activities or days out with school aged children in the summer, particularly ones we can do in this crazy pandemic would be greatly appreciated. 💕 #debtfreejourney #daveramseybabysteps #daveramsey #debtfreecommunity #debtfree #debtfreeuk #financialfreedom #debtfreegoals #debtfreecommunityuk #debtfreeliving #freedaysout #daysoutwithkids #mummylife #realparenting #mummyproblems #sahmuk #pandemic2020

Today is an amazing day because it’s the day I broke up with #navient and made my last student loan payment! I am officially #studentloandebtfree 🙌🏽 it has been a long journey and I never thought I’d actually get here! I managed to pay off $20,800 of student loans in 4 years!! I was on the 10 year payoff plan but I knew I didn’t want to carry this debt with me for a decade. It wasn’t always fun making large payments towards paying off debt when I could have instead used that money to travel or buy new clothes, but I’m glad I did it! Here’s to making wise money choices now so you can enjoy #financialindependence later! 😃👍🏽 . . . . #financialfreedom #debtfreegoals #debtfreejourney #nomorestudentloans #byebyedebt #blackmothers #blackmotherhood #millenialmoney #daveramsey #stephengraham #blackwomeninsales #blackmoney #michiganblogger #financialliteracy #lansingblogger #blackfinancialadvisor #blackfinancialliteracy

🤔How much should your monthly grocery spending be? Well, there are so many factors that it’s difficult to put out a number. One thing I do know is that the tighter your situation is, the tighter your grocery budget needs to be. If you are struggling to make ends meet, or simply desperate to crawl out of debt ASAP, make it a tight budget. Something like $125-$150/mo per person in an average cost of living area seems to be reasonable. If you live in a higher cost of living area, have huge eaters, or simply don’t want to be strict because you make enough money to spend on groceries and still pay off debt and reach your money goals, well then, spend whatever you want!!! The point of your grocery budget is not to limit you, it’s to help you create extra money in your budget to throw toward DEBT and SAVINGS and make those BIG goals happen!!! It won’t happen without sacrifice, but you are the one that ultimately decides what number is right for your family and your lifestyle. Not me, you! The most important thing is that you can *afford* what you are spending. We budget $800/mo for our family of 5 and enjoy a little more freedom with our food budget than we used to. We have a small restaurant budget too. It works for us! What questions do you have about grocery budgets?? Let’s chat and get this expense under control!🥗🛒

Here are 8 frugal habits that have helped me to save money. Do you have other suggestions? 👉Excuse any spelling mistakes, I'm Swedish👈 1️⃣ MEAL PLAN: Food is one of my familys biggest expenses. Meal planning keep us from making impulse purchases when we grocery shop. Planning what we are going to eat and when, and making food at home prevent us from getting take out as often. We cook at home as often as possible. 2️⃣ WANTS VS NEEDS: When I want to buy something or when I look at my expences I ask myself if it's a want or a need. If an item is a non-essential it can be cut from our budget until our debt is paid off. Don't buy stuff because you want to impress people. Don't keep up with the Joneses, they are broke! 3️⃣ BIKE MORE: Transportation is one of our biggest expenses. I try to take my bike to work more often. It's a simple way to save money by not having to pay for gas and having less repairs on my car. 4️⃣ DECLUTTER AND SELL THINGS I DON’T NEED: I declutter on a regular basis. When I find stuff that I don’t really need anymore I sell it to make money. 5️⃣ NO SPEND DAYS: I challange myself to have as many No Spend Days per month as possible. I count a No Spend Day as a day when I don't spend money on anything, and instead use what I already have paid for and have at home 6️⃣ KEEP A LIST OF FREE ACTIVITIES: I look up free things to do in our area and keep a list on my phone. This way I have an idea of what we can do instead of spending money. 7️⃣ USE THE LIBRARY: I love my library! I usually only read books once so I don't feel I have to own them. If my library doesn’t have the book I want to read I contact them and there is usually no problem for them to add the book to their collection. 8️⃣ COMPARE PRICES: Comparing prices is extra important when buying something expensive. This way you make sure that you’re getting the absolute best deal when you want to buy something.

We did grown adult things! We created our wills!⠀ ⠀ This is something we always talked about doing, but put it off as we’ve never thought it something that is immediately necessary in our current age and time. I don't like talking about death but just like financial planning you need a plan for your passing.⠀ ⠀ Planning for financial security means ensuring once you're gone, your finances are still secure and the burdens are not passed onto your loved ones to figure out. ⠀ ⠀ Creating our wills was great, easy and not as scary as we had always imagined, which is the main reason we have postponed the process. @ramsey .solutions online will package provided a step by step walkthrough for each scenario needed to complete our wills. Forty minutes for two of us helped us solidify our family needs and provided us with a sense of peace.⠀ ⠀ Another positive that came from this is the opportunity for open conversations about estate planning, our children needs, and if and how we would support local charities.⠀ ⠀ We are so glad we did it! We recommend you do it too! August is National Will Month and we encourage you to create a will if you do not already have one. Use the code 20OFF to get a discount. 👋🏼New Friends! We are The Carroll’s, Dan & Liz. This 📸 was taken at my college graduation in ‘89. We were dating. Within 18 months we were married, moved states, changed jobs and bought our first rental house. We’ve since raised two children, moved states again, changed jobs and industries, built three houses, and so on. Real estate has always been our constant companion. We’ve had multi-family, still have a four-plex, but longterm single family is our favorite. We love helping other families. Over the years we’ve refined our model and streamlined our processes but we stay fairly old-school. We live debt free. We self-manage all 20 of our properties. We prefer cash deals (don’t get us wrong, we didn’t start out cash buyers. It took years to get there! ). Real estate retired both of us from our corporate careers. 🔥 #fire We bought two more properties last month but what makes us the most proud is our son and his new wife just bought their first. 💙 On this profile we share about money, marriage and mindset and what you can accomplish with a written plan (with a lot of love for real estate and the natural beauty of our Oregon Coast setting sprinkled in ). Thanks for joining us.
