I’m getting that quarantine 15, except I’m going the other way ⬇️ down 6lbs in 3 weeks of being sent home from college. Everyone thinks now, with being stuck at home is a time for their goals to falter, fail and drop off but if anything now is the time to get laser focused with less distractions. No worries about going out to drinks and consuming all those extra calories, less chances to go for take out, easier access to Whole Foods and properly tracked macros and calories at home handling every piece of food yourself. The gyms are closed and you can’t do your regular training? F*ck that, treat these weeks in quarantine as a few weeks to train in an area you usually neglect. Get your cardio up 🏃🏻‍♂️master your bodyweight, utilize minimal weights and equipment to break into training protocols you typically don’t use (time under tension, giant sets, super high volume sets, hard isometric contractions ). The only things stopping you is yourself, the only excuses are the ones you make up! STAY MOTIVATED! ☝️

To “build muscle” when in reality they are doing things so fast and with improper form that basically they are just in their burning calories...not really breaking down muscle tissue.⁣ ⁣ This post kind of goes along with the one yesterday I did about adding more volume for lagging parts and how that is not always the smartest approach (go check it out if you haven’t please 🙏 ).⁣ ⁣ We need to first understand the INTENT of lifting weights. The purpose is to create muscle breakdown and forced adaptation so the muscle can grow in size (hypertrophy ), or increase maximal load lifted (strength ) which is a more specialized skill.⁣ ⁣ A lot of issues I see with those who are not progressing and growing come down to ⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ Their nutrition does not match their goals.⁣ 2️⃣ A lack of patience.⁣ 3️⃣ The programming, form, and focus when training is severely lacking.⁣ ⁣ Building muscle is no joke. You can’t just go in, pick up some dumbbells, work up a sweat, and expect that to help you grow....hell I can work up a sweat doing 10lbs DB’s in an non air conditioned gym here in Florida in the middle of summer...but it’s not helping me grow new muscle.⁣ ⁣ Don’t gauge the effectiveness of your training session by how much you sweat, gauge it by the effort placed on the muscle group being worked.⁣ ⁣ 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟:⁣ 🔹Did I execute my program the way it was laid out?⁣ 🔸Was I using proper form with the movements?⁣ 🔹How was my focus during the session?⁣ 🔸Did I truly take the sets near or to failure or did I cheat myself out of a few more reps I could have pushed harder on?⁣ ⁣ At the end of the day it is not you coach or training partner who is responsible for your productivity and effort given...it’s yours!⁣ ⁣ 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴: ⁣ 𝘥𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘥 @𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘯𝘦 .𝘤𝘰𝘮⁣ 𝘸𝘸𝘸.𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘥𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘴.𝘤𝘰𝘮⁣ 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘛𝘶𝘣𝘦: 𝘋𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘴
