#półrokupopolsku #sfora #niemogeboczytam #latozczarnaowca #bookflatlay #bookaholic #booklover #czytaniejestfajne #bookstagrampl #bookgiveaways #booklovers #mybookfeatures #becauseofreading

QOTD: What format do you own most: hardcovers, paperbacks, ebooks or audiobooks? 🍂 If I had to make a guess, I think paperbacks outnumber my hardcovers for sure! I don't own many ebooks, mainly ones that were free on Amazon (I'm such a Scrooge you guys ) or ones from Netgalley, and I own maybe 3 audiobooks with actual CDs? I do have an audiobook subscription, but that's it 😂 🍂 [ADVERTISEMENT] 🍂 I lovelovelove the elegance that is @wordsmith .candles 😍 Look at that huge candle jar! I can highly recommend them, and you can use my code WOMANON15 for a discount! 🍂 [REVIEW] 🍂 Last weekend I finished SOULWALKERS by @cassidy_thomas ! This was SUCH a great read. The plot was full twists and turns, and I simply couldn't put it away. The ending left me reeling, and I need the next book ASAP. I can highly recommend this! Thank you to the author for sending me a copy. 🍂 #bookflatlay #booksbooksbooks #alwaysreading #yalovin #bookaholic #bibliophile #bookstagram #becauseofreading #bookgram #bookishlove #instabook #booktography #gezelligboekig #calm_collected #doortomywonderland #hyggestyle #cozyvibes #mybeigelife #calmversation

HAPPY RELEASE DAY for Kiss My Cupcake by @helenahunting . ⁣ • Now live on All Platforms! ⁣ • ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ • Oh, what a hilarious, sweet and heartfelt story this was, perfect for this summer from hell. Helena Hunting can really do NO wrong. Every time I pick up one of her books I know that I'll end up in stitches, laughing my a** off and so full of feels that I'm left a little bit of hangovered. ⁣ Blaire and Ronan might not seem the most logical pairing but the way they complemented each other was a vision to behold. Determined to prove her worth and also that her dreams were worth fight for, Blaire embarks on a journey full of buttercream, unicorns and frosting. Having a day from hell a week before her grand opening, Blaire comes face to face with her new neighbour and things definitely start on the wrong foot with Ronan. A war emerges full of cupcakes, pranks, poop and glitter (don't ask just pick up the book! ). ⁣ It was so awesomely funny to witness the back and forth between these two extremely different people and the slow burn built up to their relationship. I loved Blaire's take charge and take no sh*t attitude and the way it was counterbalanced with Ronan's laid back and witty personality. I absolutely adored their initial rivalry and the extremes each one would go to get a leg up over the other. And when they banded together to fight of a common enemy, THAT'S when they truly shined and became unstoppable. As I mentioned, this was a slow burn but when the fireworks started it was instantly KABOOM!!!! Ronan and Blaire's chemistry was off the charts but their connection was what made them absolutely epic! I loved their banter, every hilarious prank and basically every interaction they had, made me either laugh, swoon or cheer. ⁣ I'll honestly never get tired of HH's writing and as always she sucked me right in from the first page. I unequivocally adore her series, but every time she steps outside her established and true and tried worlds, she really sticks the landing. ⁣ #KissMyCupcake #HelenaHunting #Outnow #bookreview #becauseofreading #bookgram #booklover #bookstagrammer #littlebookworm #igreads #goodreads #readersofinstagram #readingismagic #authorsofinstagra

#qotd Do you like psychological thrillers? . . I chanced upon The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay while I was searching for horror fiction and boy, was I in for a ride. . . Seven-year-old Wen is Vacationing with her parents, Eric and Andrew, at a remote cabin on a quiet New Hampshire lake. One afternoon Wen is catching grasshoppers while her parents lounge at the deck at the back of the house. As Wen continues to play outside she comes across Leonard, a huge bulky man who seems to have appeared out of nowhere in the driveway. Her instincts tell her that she should run inside and not talk to a stranger but Leonard seems harmless. . . Leonard and Wen get talking and play when suddenly the former apologies to Wen saying "None of what’s going to happen is your fault". For a moment, Wen is unable to comprehend what he is saying at which point three other strangers arrive carrying unidentifiable, menacing objects. . . Truly scared, Wen runs inside to warn her dads while she hears Leonard calling out to her "Your dads won’t want to let us in, Wen. But they have to. We need your help to save the world." . . Wen and her parents are stuck in a remote corner with four menacing strangers, the phone lines cut, no signal for their mobiles and no weapon to protect themselves. What will happen to this family whose vacation turns into a nightmare all of a sudden? A gripping tale of paranoia, sacrifice, apocalypse, and survival where the family is told that they can walk away only if they sacrifice one among them to save the world. Yes, this book gave me the jitters. . . This book was unbearably tense and anxiety-inducing for me. In other words, it did its work as a psychological thriller wonderfully. I was agitated and worried about Wen and her parents. I could feel the fear of Wen's parents whose sole aim was to keep Wen safe at the face of such unexpected terror. Though I picked this up thinking it's horror fiction, I quite liked the psychological thriller it turned out to be. . . So, if you are a fan of the genre, do pick this up. But remember, it's not for the faint-hearted. . . #bookcommunity #bookclub #bookclubcollective #psychologicalthriller

#giftedbook @randomhouse “We are all the same in the dark. My mother said that to me when she kissed me goodnight. She meant that in the dark, all that’s left is our souls. She wasn’t imagining me in a hole with a killer, living my worst fear. Totally blind. Floating in space’” • Set in a small Texas town and divided in to three different points of view, We Are All the Same In the Dark follows Odette, a female police officer who is haunted by the unsolved disappearance of her best friend, Tru. When a little girl is discovered on the side of the road, traumatized and mute, Odette is determined to figure out what happened to her. The town is convinced that the main suspect in both cases is Wyatt, thanks to a recently released true crime documentary that suggests he is responsible for Tru’s disappearance. But Odette believes Wyatt is innocent and frantically tries to solve both cases before the town takes matters in to their own hands. • The suspense factor was high during the first two narratives of this story. I figured out who was behind Tru’s disappearance fairly early on but the sinister atmosphere and desire to know why kept me engaged. The last perspective didn’t pack as much of a punch as the first portion of the book and the loose ends were tied up a bit too well in my opinion. Overall, I enjoyed this one and I am excited to discuss it with other readers. We Are All the Same in The Dark releases today! i know a fair amount of you have been waiting on a luna necklace for a while. i had been carefully planning this release, coming up with new designs, working on a batch little by little behind the scenes and teaming up with my super talented friend @erinrudyphoto who captured some incredibly magical shots. unfortunately, the pandemic put studio work totally on hold for me and then JKR broke our hearts. harry potter had always felt like a safe space, a story that at its core has always been about fighting oppression with love. i can't support JKR any longer - when her comments have made so many folks feel unwelcome and hurt. but i continue to see so many diverse voices in the hp community that keep the magic alive. so, these luna pieces are finished and were created with so much care and love and i want to share them with you. i'm planning to donate a portion of sales to mermaids uk and want to spend time this week sharing some of my favorite creators in this community. 🖤 ⚡

I started FRONT DESK by @kellyyanghk last night, thinking I’ll just read for a little bit and then head to bed. But next thing I knew, I was finishing the middle grade novel and reading all the extra bits at the end. It was... just a great book about the immigrant experience, about kindness in the face of discrimination and racism, about friendship and family. Basically I can see what the rave reviews were about. This is the middle grade novel that I wish existed when I was growing up.

🌻 B O O K A P P R E C I A T I ON🌻 I borrowed this book many moons ago from the library. It had me at hello and upon returning it, it haunted me for the last 6 years. Its a bout a guy who gives up his life in the rat race to take on an social experiment. He buys land in the Highlands and advertises for volunteers to take part in a utopian project. It's a true experiment underpinning the essential need for every kind of character to build a self sufficient community. It's very interesting and very fun and it comes highly recommended. If your looking for something very interesting written very well this is your book. Thank me later. QOTD: What are you currently reading and are you enjoying it? ●●●●●●●●●● One of the two books I am currently reading is INCENDIARY by Zoraida Córdova that I got in my May 2020 @owlcrate . I was so excited to read it. A book about a rebellion set in a reimagining of 15th century Spain sounded absolutely intriguing. I am almost 100 pages into it and to be honest, I am not the biggest fan so far. I am really struggling to get into the story because my mind keeps drifting off while reading. 4 stars. Severed is a 2007 thriller crime novel with 475 pages about an ex-soldier who wakes up beside his decapitated girlfriend. He’s told that he’s the one who’s killed her, even though he has no memory of this. He’s then blackmailed into delivering a mysterious briefcase otherwise evidence of him killing his girlfriend will be sent to the police. At the same time as trying to deliver this briefcase - the inside contents unknown - our main character also seeks to find out if he was the one who really did kill his girlfriend. - As soon as I started reading, I was making really good progress and flying through the book. For a novel that’s almost 500 pages, I didn’t feel intimidated by the size at all, and wanted to keep reading. I’ve sadly been going through a bit of a reading slump, which means that I haven’t had the greatest motivation to read. But I have a really strong feeling that if I hadn’t had been in a reading slump, I would have been able to read this book really quickly. It just has that easy-reading feel to it. I really didn't like the way the main character was portrayed at times, and it put me off him a bit for the remainder of the novel, which affected my reading experiences unfortunately. Apart from that, and the sometimes slightly corny dialogue, the book was entertaining and kept me guessing about the final outcome. I can honestly say that I had no idea how the book would conclude. It was such an intriguing book concept which was exactly the type of storyline that would keep me on the edge of my seat. Kocha Bieszczady i swoje zajęcie. Kiedy do pensjonatu przyjeżdża siostra Oli wraz z mężem i dziećmi, a także przystojny Marco, przyjaciel szwagra, życie dziewczyny zaczyna nabierać rumieńców.

5 AUDIOBOOK RECOMMENDATIONS: I wasn't an audiobook fan at all but over the past several months, I've been converted. It allows me to read when my eyes are strained and tired, or when I'm travelling/doing something else. Another perk is that new releases that aren't available in India as ebooks or paperbacks are sometimes available as audiobooks. Since I've been sharing audiobook updates, a few people have asked me for recommendations and I thought I'll make a whole post out of it. 1. The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee. Out of all 20 audiobooks that I've listened to, this is my favourite. It's addicting, thrilling, and mysterious. Set in a dystopian world, it will wow you with the world building and intertwined stories. 2. Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender. I absolutely loved the narration of this one because the speed was good (for me on 2x ) and the emotions came through in the voice. It also helps that the book is really good too. 3. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. I couldn't convince myself to pick this up as an ebook so I tried the audiobook and that was a very good decision. The dual narration sucked me into the story. Plus, the book's writing itself is quite compelling. 4. Love From A to Z by S. K. Ali. This was the first audiobook that I actually liked and didn't think that I'd have liked it better as an ebook/paperback. The story is really good and the narration supports it quite well. I totally imagined myself in the scenes. 5. Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo. While I didn't personally like this book much (all the themes were too familiar and known for it to make an impact on me ), I have to say that the book is good on it's own. This is also a good audiobook to start with because it is quite short. And that's it for my recommendations! If you haven't read these yet, I hope you do. Are you an audiobook person? Do you have any audiobook recommendations for me?

QOTD: Do you enjoy reading books with dual timelines? I'm so excited to be part of the Book Tour for Fragments of Light, by Michele Phoenix (Publisher Thomas Nelson )! Here's the summary:  An impossible decision in the chaos of D-Day. Ripples that cascade seventy-five years into the present. And two lives transformed by the tenuous resolve to reach out of the darkness toward fragments of light. Cancer stole everything from Ceelie—her peace of mind, her self-image, perhaps even her twenty-three-year marriage to her college sweetheart, Nate. Without the support of Darlene, her quirky elderly friend, she may not have been able to endure so much loss. So when Darlene’s prognosis turns dire, Ceelie can’t refuse her seemingly impossible request—to find a WWII paratrooper named Cal, the father who disappeared when Darlene was an infant, leaving a lifetime of desolation in his wake. The search that begins in the farmlands of Missouri eventually leads Ceelie to a small town in Normandy, where she uncovers the harrowing tale of the hero who dropped off-target into occupied France. Alternating between Cal’s D-Day rescue by two young French sisters and Ceelie’s present-day journey through trial and heartbreak, Fragments of Light poses a timeless question: When life becomes unbearable, will you press toward the light or let the darkness win? QOTD: What is one of your top 2020 reads so far? ———————————————————————— I enjoyed this book. I’ve never read any of Hopkins’ books before, so this was my first time. I like the poetry style, which I found interesting. The subject matter she chose was also personal to her and definitely something that’s not touched on a lot. Overall I liked the book, but I only rated it three stars because how she talks about one of the characters really bothered me. She made one of her characters bi, which is great, however she had the character cheat because she was exploring her sexuality which was unnecessary. There was also a line about “f-ing her straight” and that was just not okay in my opinion. The main plot was interesting, if a bit long, but the bi representation in this book rubbed me the wrong way. It made me want to rate the book lower, but how other issues like gaslighting and such made me rate the book slightly higher, thus the middle of the road rating. How do you rate books if they contain something problematic? ———————————————————————— #theyouiveneverknown #poetrybooks #bookhoarder #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #ourmoodyday #booksofinstagram #homedesign #booknerdigans #lifestyle #flatlayforever #bookphotography #vscobooks #booklove #becauseofreading #totalbooknerd #pursuepretty #ilovebooks

•• I'm obsessed with this method. Let me tell you how you can become an idea machine… ⁣ Another Monday, and I couldn't be more overwhelmed already. I have a list of things to do that exceed my time and mental strength, and I’ll fail my “don't work hard, work smart” motto. But I've got coffee and music, so I'll stick to the plan and try my best not to lose it. ⁣ Here's to forcing our limits. ⁣ I talked about James Altucher ( @altucher ) here before and his “write ten ideas” method that I instantly fell in love with. He discussed it on several occasions, including a blog post (check the link in my bio ), but the core idea of this method is to take a waiter's pad, go to a local cafe, read something inspirational for ten or twenty minutes, then start writing down ten ideas. For instance, ten books you can write, ten things you can do to have an extra income, ten main ideas you can write ten ideas for… and so on. ⁣ I tried that for three months and I came up with a bunch of new ideas. I didn't use a waiter's pad, but I did use my good and old buddy app @noteshelfapp , and it's true what Altucher says, “when you cut yourself open, you bleed ideas” and there's nothing like pen and paper (or, for me, digital pen and paper ) to do that. ⁣ But I also reached a delicate point that he talks about: it's easy to have four or five ideas. You can write them down right now if you want. But at six, it starts to get hard. Your brain starts to sweat, and that's the beauty of this method because you won't exercise your brain unless you force your limits little by little. If that's true for building muscle strength, it's no different for building your idea generator muscle. ⁣ Try this, you'll see ideas sprouting everywhere. ⁣ And that's how I wanted to start this week with you guys, I hope you're all safe and well and having great ideas. ⁣ One more thing, though. Don't forget what Steve Jobs said: ❝ To me, ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions. ⁣ 𝗯𝘆 @beardbetweenthelines ⁣ ☕️ — Ok, now, first, how are you doing? What's going on this week for you? Second, do you have any idea to make this week less stressful? ⁣ ↓

QOTD: Which book has been sitting on your shelf unread for the longest time? - I think I have my Dan Brown books for a long time and I only read two of them. Because I donate books from time to time, a lot of my unread books from ages ago, goes away. I hate the idea of books never being read so I prefer it that way. - I was surprised to find Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor when I was cleaning my shelf cause neither have I read Strange the Dreamer nor do I own it. 😬 But it’s a very pretty cover and I am happy to have it. I should get to the series (duology? ) soon. I am yet to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. UGH SO MANY BOOKS AND SO LITTLE TIME 😭 - #museofnightmares #lainitaylor #strangethedreamer #caraval #finale #stephaniegarber

QOTD : have you read any mythological retellings? Drop your recommendations in the comments below. Review time with #theperusingowl Today we are reviewing one of the popular mythology retellings by @divakarunichitra , The forest of enchantments ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ (5/5 ) This is a beautiful “Sitayan” (Ramayan written from Sita’s perspective ). Mentions all the struggles Sita faces and how she tackles them regardless of the situation. She comes from being a princess and a queen to being exiled for 14 years with his husband. She leaves behind her sister and all the luxuries of her life to fulfil his husband’s promise to his dying father. During the end of their exile, she is captured by King Ravan and this ensued the battle In Lanka. She later has to undergo yet another fire test to prove her virtue. She then prepares to welcome her kids and rule as a queen when yet again she’s exiled(while carrying the kids in her ). This is where she meets Valmiki who has penned the beautiful “Ramayan” and she amends it because it’s not just the tale of Lord Ram. She also tells the story of all the women who up until now were seen only as a meek characters. Author has done an amazing job of capturing the essence of Ramayan and I think I loved this version better as it gives justice to ALL the characters. Growing up, I loved and watched Ramayan and I still do but while I was reading this, I realised nobody ever spoke about how Sita felt, how the other ladies felt and what they were going through. This book was a necessity. Every girl, everybody should read this. It teaches you all the aspects of love, but the most important lesson - when to stand up for yourself. #reviewsbyekta . . . . . . . #bookstagram #bookoftheday #mybookfeatures #bookstafeatures #betterhalfofbookstagram #bookadiction #booksofinstagram #booknerd #bookhoarder #bookstagramcommunity #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #bookdragon #readingaddict #humansofbookstagram #becauseofreading #unitedbookstagram #bookishlove #theforestofenchantments #myeverydaymagic #bookporn #readabook #inspiremyinstagram #bookcollector #photooftheday #girlsread #bookaholic

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #booknymph #booksbooksbooks #bestbookishpic #becauseofreading #thewonderinglight #quietinthewild #thewildernesstonic #thewonderinglight #cottagecore #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #instabook #igreads #igreadersarg #bookstagramarg #gameofthrones #asongoficeandfire #fantasybooks #georgerrmartin #ygritte #booknerd #bookphotography

What do you read when you’re feeling sad? Another perfect book of hilarious, dirty, painfully honest essays by Samantha Irby is done. I’m saying “another” and not “the last” very carefully, because I’m not quite ready to deal with the reality that I no longer have an unread collection of these to look forward to. Over the last couple months, I’ve come to consider Irby’s writing an absolute essential. These are books for the weekends you don’t quite want to face, the days you’re sad or lonely or anxious, nights when quarantine is driving me a bit mad, times when you need to sit with a friend but can’t take another FaceTime call spent wondering if, really, that’s just what your hair looks like now or… ? They will make you laugh uncontrollably, squirm in empathetic discomfort, forget all the stressful and difficult things you’re supposed to be working through, and escape for a moment so that you can come back down later ever so slightly better prepared for the real world. (Or perhaps just better able to to forgive yourself for really not being prepared at all. ) Knowing that I had one of these collections to look forward to has gotten me through some tough days lately, and I will miss that feeling immensely.

"The true birthplace is that wherein for the first time one looks intelligently upon oneself; my first homelands have been books" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #memoirsofHadrian #memoirs #bookloversday #becauseofreading #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookcommunity #bookfeature #bookgram #bookishfeature #bookishlove #booklover #booknerd #booksofig #bookstagramfeature #bookstagrammer #bookworm #littlebookworm #readersofinstagram #prettybooks #welovebooks #quotesonbooks #igreads #readingismagic #bookrecommendation #readerlife #goodbooks #alliseeispretty #choosejoy #myeverydaymagic via @preview .app

A rare weekend post from me because I wanted to join in on the #ReadersForEquality challenge today! The prompt was to post about a book(s ) you loved pre-bookstagram and I had to think about it for a minute because I've had my bookstagram for nearly five years! In the end I chose one book that I read before bookstagram (REBECCA ) and one book that I read in my early days of bookstagram (TIPPING THE VELVET ). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ REBECCA is a book that I thought was deliciously chilling. The writing, the structure, the house and gothic vibes- I loved it all. There's a new movie adaptation coming out later this fall and I cannot wait to watch that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TIPPING THE VELVET is the first and only Sarah Waters book that I've read and I loved it. The writing was so wonderfully descriptive and wistful. I was just thinking the other day that I really love historical fiction, but I don't read enough of it. I need to see if I can squeeze in a historical fiction book next month! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you read either of these books? What's one book that you loved before bookstagram? . . . . . . . . . #lovedbeforebookstagram #nationalbookloversday #backlistbooks #tippingthevelvet #rebeccca #becauseofreading #bookstagram #bookstafeatures #bookfeaturepage #top_bookstagram #bookster #amreading #litfic #whattoread #booktography #booksandplants #bookishfeatures #bookish #booklover #coolgirlsread #badassbookbabes #betterwithbooks #girlandherbooks #vscoreads #culturetripbooks #historicalfiction #classicbooks
