Mutton biriyani Aromatic spices,succulent meat,fragrant rice, ghee and lots of love,Biriyani is definitely magic❤️ Serves :4 You will need: 500 grams of mutton 2 cups of basmati rice Few Bayleaf,cinnamon,star anise 2 spoons of curd 2 tsp ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp of poppy seeds 1/2 tsp of saunf 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp haldi Juice of 1 lime One chopped onion One chopped tomato 3 green chillies Handful of coriander and mint 3 tsp of ghee 1 cup coconut milk In a pressure cooker add 3 tsp ghee and sauté the biriyani spices.Now add in ginger garlic paste and wait till raw smell goes away.Add in the onions and green chilli and sauté till onions turn translucent.Now add the tomatoes and cook till they turn mushy.Add the coriander and mint leaves.Now add the mutton and very little water as the mutton will cook from its own juices and the juices from the veggies.Add 3 tsps curd.Now add in the haldi,garam masala,coriander powder,cumin powder,saunf and poppy seeds and let it pressure cook.After one whistle keep it on a low heat for 5 minutes.By now the meat must be completely cooked.In another cooker add the basmati rice.Layer the mutton on it.Now add in the cooked stock and one cup of coconut milk.Squeeze in the juice on one lime.Cook in medium heat for one whistle and then leave it on simmer for two minutes.The rice will be completely cooked.Fluff it up.Serve with cold onion raitha and boiled eggs.Perfect lockdown lunch. #meenucooks #easyrecipes #indianfood #sweet #sweettooth #healthyrecipes #quarantine #chennai #indianfoodblogger #southindianfood #keto #foodstagram #foodgasm #bbg #foodie #healthyfood #foodporn #lockdown #corona #eat #love #food #homecook #snack #biriyani

Switched up my breakfast this morning and had Vanilla Protein French Toast with a @SumoCitrus on the side! SO good. I’m so happy that Sumo Citrus is still in season through the end of April. They are seriously the best citrus ever, and if you can get your hands on one before the season ends, I highly recommend trying one! The Sumo made the perfect addition to my french toast plate #dEATS whole wheat or gluten free bread, 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk, 1 cup of egg whites, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, and cinnamon. Mix the almond milk, cinnamon, and egg whites together and dunk the bread in the mixture. Heat a pan with avocado oil spray & placed the coated bread in the pan, flipping until fully cooked/golden. Next I sautéed banana slices in avocado oil & cinnamon. Lastly, I put the banana slices on top with some maple syrup and extra cinnamon! #NotAnOrange #SumoCitrus

Frozen fruit might have more nutrient dense properties as they are picked when its ripe & immediately frozen. Usually, no chemicals are added to produce before freezing. During the process from being picked to frozen, fruit and veggies are usually washed, blanched, cut frozen and packaged all within a few hours. Most fresh fruit & veggies are picked before they are ripe and will ripen during transportation. They can be in transportation anywhere from 3 days to several weeks (up to 12 months for certain produce ) before arriving to a distribution centre. During transportation, fresh produce is generally stored in a chilled, controlled atmosphere and treated with chemicals to prevent spoiling. Bottom line, frozen produce are snap frozen soon after they’re picked, they are just as nutritious (sometimes even more ) than fresh… For some foods there is a compromise on taste and texture once the food is defrosted. The scale hasn’t really moved since I started the #pwrathome challenge. I mean like- it’s gone down 2-4lbs and then comes right back. I’m about to get my period and I’m always heavier around now but still. Some of my clothes fit looser and you’ve see them Jan vs March photo... I just really thought I’d be down actual weight by now. It’s been a little over 2 years between these two photos. A little over 2 years since I realized I needed to make changes to my way of life to be as strong and healthy as I could be for myself and my family. 2 years since I’ve put in the work every day and made changes that were reflective but more importantly, sustainable. My whole perspective has changed about fitness and why it’s so important to be a whole person. You can’t underestimate the importance of FEELING strong mentally and physically. ⁣ ⁣ With everything that’s going on right now, with over 1/3 of the world population being in quarantine, it’s even more important to try and stay mobile, active and strengthen from the inside out. ⁣ ⁣ I started with @kayla_itsines #bbg program in the @sweat app and did that for over a year and a half. Running was my form of LISS and then I fell in love with that too. I switched to @kelseywells #pwrathome workouts when I injured my calve and then tore my plantar plate. But the SWEAT app has a whole bunch of other workouts, and even the gym based ones are easy to modify at home. You really don’t need much equipment, I only used a yoga mat for the first while, and if you don’t have that you can use a towel. I’ve made friends through the BBG community now, you girls know who you are, and I’m beyond excited that @sweat has made the app free for 1 month now so everyone can try it out for longer so if you want to try it you can do so from home. I’m going to add the sign-up link in my stories for you, take a look, download the app and see all the programs and meal guides too. ⁣ ⁣ I’m on my last week of #PWR now, and next week will start up with the newly released PWR at Home 2.0 program. April has me bringing back the OG GREEK PASTA SALAD 🍝🥗 one of my favorites; its quick and healthy and feeds a crowd in no time! Everyone loves fresh veg- but if you don’t have any: canned tomatoes, artichokes and olives make for great adds 💯! I made some tweaks to my go-to Lemony Vinaigrette and I think you’re going to love it! Grab the recipe deets below 👇🏼👇🏼 . Go get 2-3 shallots and dice them as finely as you can. Add them to bottom of your dressing jar (dynamite ) 🧨and then throw in: . 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 2 crushed garlic cloves 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard sea salt, oregano, fresh black pepper & sumac to taste. 👌🏻about 1/2 tsp each of sumac and oregano. Shake or whisk everything together, pour right before serving. Store in the fridge for 3-5 days. #vegetarianfood #saladlove . nothing like some comfort food during this time 🥔🧅 this is definitely one of my go to comfort meals, it’s delicious and honestly good during any season. Tonight’s #dEATS 👉🏻 pot roast baby 🙌🏻 What you need: 3-5 pound chuck roast 1-2 tbsp olive oil Salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder 2 whole onions, washed, peeled and halved 6-8 whole carrots, unpeeled, cut into pieces 1 lb red potatoes (or yellow ) 3 cups organic beef stock Fresh rosemary Fresh thyme Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. In a skillet heat oil and add desired seasonings to the roast by rubbing it. (Onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper ) sear roast, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Place onions at the bottom of roast pan and place the roast on top of the onions (so good ). Pour beef broth on top of the roast, then fresh rosemary & thyme on top of roast. You can also add 1 cup of red wine sauce. I add my carrots with the beef because i like them to cook all day but you can add them in with the potatoes later! Bake for two hours with a lid. Remove and add washed potatoes (whole ). Cook for another hour and a half - two hours till potatoes and carrots are tender and the roast is cooked through and is easily shredded with a fork. Remove from oven and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Make your own gravy with the juice/broth using cornstarch or flour! LOADED bowl of CREAMY Coconut Steel-Cut Oats this morning! I woke up starving and all I wanted was a cozy bowl of oats🙌🏻 this hit the spot 💯 Ingredients: 1/4c steel cut oats 1 tsp maple syrup 2 tsp bee pollen 1/2 mashed banana 1 tbsp shredded coconut 1 c water 1/2 c almond milk Directions: soak oats the night before in 1/2c HOT water. In the morning, transfer the oats to the pot and add 1 cup of water. Cook oats in water for 13 minutes stirring occasionally. All I want to do here is give you a list of reasons why you should stick to your resolution this year based on my own personal experience taking control of my health.⁣⁣ Some things I’ve inherited from my patience and consistency with health/fitness over the past 18 months. -confidence physically -mental clarity in my sense of self and my purpose⁣⁣ -freedom to move my body in ways I never knew possible -endless hours of walking without exhaustion -gratitude for my well being (this is a never ending blessing )⁣⁣ -better sleep⁣⁣ -no longer hiding behind clothes that I hate just because I think they hide my body -more comfort and faith in my friendships/relationships -physical strength (yes I mean I can actually see muscles sometimes!! )⁣⁣ -a better understanding of what my body wants/doesn’t want when it comes to food and movement -a more compassionate view of other people because I understand struggling for what you want -a light. The world is going through a dark time right now. This is hard for many of us - we are experiencing a global pandemic and a complete economic shutdown. ⠀ ⠀ It’s ok if the best you can do is hide under a blanket on your sofa and eat takeaway. You are not made to thrive under these circumstances, and it’s ok to simply SURVIVE. ⠀ ⠀ I’m seeing a lot of pressure on social media to “use” this time well. We’re all likely consuming more content than usual, given we’re #stayinghome , and with that comes exposure to people telling us what to do to bEcOmE oUr bEsT sELvEs. ⠀ ⠀ Everyone is coping with this in their own way. You should not feel bad if you can’t get up at 6am, go for a run, then come home and do a home workout like the girl you follow on Instagram. You should not feel bad if you are mindlessly snacking out of sheer boredom. You should not feel bad if you gain weight over the coming weeks and months because you can’t get to your gym or get outside. ⠀ ⠀ Give yourself a break and try to be kind to yourself.
