Day 14 of #quarantinecooking and #nogroceryshopping We’re pretty set but we’ve run out of eggs! That’s a big deal in our egg-loving family. With several bananas left, I’m freezing them to make banana bread and our favorite banana cake later, once we replenish our egg supply. Freezing bananas allows you to have bananas any time. Use in smoothies, pudding, breads, pancakes, ice cream, dip in chocolate-there are endless ideas. The trick to freezing most fruit is to cut/slice and individually freeze each piece so you don’t end up with a big frozen clump. Do this with any fruit like berries, sliced peaches and cherries. Also, if you have room in your freezer, use this technique with cubed beef and chicken, shrimp and fish fillets. It makes defrosting much easier. Freezing bananas: Line a baking sheet with parchment 🍌 Slice bananas 1/2-1” thick 🍌 Lay slices down flat, not touching onto the parchment 🍌 Place in freezer 🍌 When frozen, remove the individual pieces into a freezer-safe bag (I like Stasher Bags ) 🍌 Label 🍌 Take out handfuls as needed. For a quick sugar fix, place a couple handfuls of bananas in a Cuisinart. Pulse until chopped, then blend thoroughly. Add chocolate or other flavorings, eat immediately. Now you have bananas whenever needed. Once I get those eggs, I’ll share our favorite GF recipe for banana cake. Domingo de #recetas y no de comida precisamente . Llega el #Otoño y tenemos mucho trabajo por hacer. 🔸Si tu #planta 🌱 hace uno o dos años que está en la misma maceta y queres que crezca cámbiala a un recipiente más grande. . 🔸 Limpia tus plantas de hojas secas y algún que otro bichito ,revisa que no tenga hongos. . 🔸 Es momento de renovar el #sustrato y de agregar algún fertilizante. Cuando a tu planta le falta potasio podes preparar un FERTILIZANTE DE BANANAS 🍌 Aporta potasio que revitaliza a tus plantas y aleja a los áfidos conocidos como #pulgones ... . TÉ DE BANANAS 🔜 Juntar 5 cáscaras de #bananas . 🍌 Colocar las cáscaras de bananas en una olla con 1 L de agua y dejar hervir 15 minutos . Apagar el fuego 🔥 , colar y dejar enfriar. Una vez que nuestro líquido está bien frío le agregamos 2 litros de agua . 🥄 Mezclar todo y listo!!!! Ya podes usar tu fertilizante a modo de riego. Podes regar tus plantas cada 15 días con este fertilizante. . 👉🏻 Una opción más fácil es dejar secar las cáscaras del banana y cortarlas 🔪 en pedacitos para enterrarlas directamente en la tierra de todas tus plantas 🌱🌳🌵🌿. . Trituras las cáscaras de huevo, y las agregas directamente al sustrato enterrándolas.Más fácil imposible!!! . 🐌 Estas mismas cáscaras te pueden servir para alejar caracoles y babosas, simplemente las colocas arriba de la tierra a modo de piedritas. . 🍄Como combatimos los hongos , con un remedio casero ? 💦 800 ML de agua limpia ( con 8 horas de reposo ) también puede ser de lluvia. 🥛200 ML de leche descremada 🥄 20 Gr. o una cuchara de bicarbonato de sodio por cada litro de la preparación. 🥣 Mezcla el agua con la leche y posteriormente añade la cantidad de #bicarbonato correspondiente, introduce en un #pulverizador 🧴, agita y aplica sobre la planta diariamente en el momento del atardecer. 🍄 Una vez erradicados los #hongos , puedes aplicarlo de forma preventiva cada 15 días. . It’s been a hotttt min since I’ve made a solid batch of banana bread. I had a bunch of super ripe bananas ready to rock n roll so I whipped up a batch yesterday afternoon and it came out PERF. It also incorporates one of my favorite foods in the world: OATMEAL! Oatmeal is a staple in my diet because it keeps me full for hours due to the fiber content! It also has iron in it which is great for runners. If you haven’t added oats into your routine, you totally should! • 👇🏼🍌OATMEAL BANANA BREAD🍌👇🏼 -1/4 cup avocado oil -1/3 cup maple syrup -2 eggs🥚 -1/4 cup almond milk -2.5 mashed bananas🍌 -1 tsp vanilla -1.75 cups oat flour (blend oats until super fine in a blender! ) -1.5 tsp baking powder -1 tsp cinnamon -1/2 tsp sea salt -1/3 cup rolled oats -1/2 cup chocolate chips🍫 * Preheat the oven to 325. Put all wet ingredients in a bowl and stir with a whisk until fully combined. Slowly add in the the dry ingredients and make sure it’s evenly consistent throughout.
